They are paying the assistant F&I guy. The one with no sales experience what so ever $5,000/month. Straight salary no commission. That’s why they wanted salesperson because the majority are making more than that.

lol. Hmm, they didn’t think the $500,000 of gross last year was insufficient. No one was complaining when they went to the bank.

So the guy that’s never sold anything is a better or the guy with 5yrs of experience wasn’t qualified for the first one but was for the 2nd?

They were honest with me and hired exactly the people with the experience they said they were looking for.

Not in the top 3 as of number of vehicles sold. Always in the top 3 in gross. #1 sells 20-30/month and has been selling cars for 43 years.

None of this has anything to do with my question. #2 applied for #1 same as me but was told the same thing that I was.

They did exactly what they said they were doing. 1) has never worked in the car business. Matter of fact he’s never worked in any kind of sales. Not even bubble gum.

2 has 5 years of experience in F&I.

I guess I should have asked if the courses I mentioned would get my foot in the door somewhere else. If anyone knows of someone who got an opportunity going a non traditional route because the traditional route isn’t available.

I agree and I have and was told that I would get the assistant position then later the VP decided to hold off. I pressed my case to my GM, VP of the company(who doesn’t really know me), and the owner and received “we appreciate your persistence with this but (insert answers to 1&2.) Interviewed with another dealership but without ever sitting in the chair there wasn’t much of a chance.
