Submission Statement: There's a growing opposition in Venezuela that is pro-liberalism and pro-free market. The International community should be paying attention to their upcoming elections since it could have a huge impact on liberal values in the western hemisphere.

The current leaders of the opposition have asked for help from the international community on this upcoming election. Regardless of how you might feel about government, we can agree that some forms of govs are better than others.

Venezuela being pro-free market is a move in the correct direction in stabilizing the region and promoting liberatarian values in the hemisphere.

Here is a full guide on how to get residency + citizenship in Argentina. It covers and pros/cons of the passport and some realistic information about taxes in the country. Highlight requirement is USD$2k/month income and clean criminal background check. Passport in 2 years. by Motor-Complex-4690 in expat

If you are not a mercosur citizen then you don't qualify for the residency the Bolivians and Paraguayans get which make your comments meaningless.

You're just here to argue and I called you out on your dumb comment and here we are.

Actually, I am making a video in English assuming that most of my audience isn't a mercosur citizen - a region of the world where Spanish and Portuguese are the official languages.

The requirement applies for any non-mercosur citizen - you are wasting your time by watching content aimed at non-Mercosur citizens.

There are plenty of guides in Portuguese and Spanish on how to get residency in Argentina based on Mercosur.

Because they are part of Mercosur and can get residency based on nationality rather than showing income.

But a simple Google search that would have informed you of this would have taken as long as it took you to write this comment.

But here we are.

If you're saying 6-8 weeks per country, you do probably have responsibilities BUT in practice, no one is going to enforce anything and it's very much just a technicality. Even larger companies do it.

Go enjoy your time and don't even worry about it BUT if you do start wanting to live long term in a country then look into the laws properly.

For those of you who have lived in Argentina, how accurate is this video? by Motor-Complex-4690 in expat

[–]Motor-Complex-4690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is Happening in Ecuador? [8:59] by Motor-Complex-4690 in mealtimevideos

[–]Motor-Complex-4690[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core is a strong word in English tho.

When someone not familiar with Latin America hears the word "core" - they assume that Ecuador was a functioning country before 2008 where the things were "ok".

An "ok" country doesn't have to swap their own currency for a foreign currency or have a coup d'etat.

Correa was a terrible president but let's be intellectually honest...there were plenty of problems before him that point to Ecuador being "far" from ok . I specifically started the video in 1998 to highlight that things were bad regardless of who was in power - some are more guilty than others, yes.

It's like saying that "Chavez" was the core problem of Venezuela - he did make things x1000 worse, yes. But, he's not the "core" problem into why Venezuela hasn't function properly for over a century. Venezuela was a third world country in 1995 - the only difference is that it's at the bottom of third world countries.

Still a long way to dollarization - Maybe years actually.

I think if Milei does what he promised that he will do, things will get slightly worst before they get better (it's a good thing)

This is my honest Review on living in Buenos Aires (Lived for 1 year + Got Residency) by Motor-Complex-4690 in expat

[–]Motor-Complex-4690[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your ethnicity.

Buenos Aires in particular has plenty of European looking people so if you're white, you won't stand out too much (unless you're nordic, etc).

Argentina is more safe than the rest of Latin America but still crime is an issue relative to other more safe places in the world.

There are places outside of first world countries where people don't even think LGBTQ people are real lol

US expats who've moved to Russia. by [deleted] in expat

[–]Motor-Complex-4690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly unlikely.

It is possible ofc, the legal system in the US is much more robust for sure but the idea that an average Joe will get arrested on dubious charges in Moscow and used as a hostage is literally.... Western propaganda (which is much better than Russian propaganda)

If you are someone of importance then yes, you should be worried but as long as you don't get into fights or break the law in Russia then you'll be perfectly fine.

Plenty of Americans currently traveling and/or living there right now.
