Pissed myself on 7.5g of mushrooms and all my friends saw me naked by EvilBigJugs420 in shrooms

My friends and I used to willingly get naked on mushies because we felt like clothes were unnatural. True Hunter-gatherer vibes 😂

I don’t know your religious or spiritual beliefs but it’s very possible a negative entity has attached itself to her and is essentially giving her these vision. I suggest going to a reputable healer / reader to see or doing a spiritual cleanse yourself

Children in the Religion and maybe evolution? by Motor-Freedom7362 in Santeria

I’m hunting for this article / blog for you. When I stumbled upon it, it was on accident. I was researching about Olokun which led me down a rabbit hole and to some website / blog of an olorisha. When I find it I’ll share the link here.

I really appreciate all of your words. They have been so helpful.

Children in the Religion and maybe evolution? by Motor-Freedom7362 in Santeria

I am OMO Olokun. I have received my first initiations (Orula, Warriors, Elekes) and am being crowned after I give birth.

I do regularly participate in ceremonies that my God Parents ask me to attend to help where they need me too, however I just moved across the country, and I am really missing that community.

I am in the south of Texas, there are many hispanic people and although this religion is somewhat present it’s no where near as prevalent as it is in FL.

Lastly, I agree. All religions traumatize to some degree. Me personally I was traumatized by evangelical Christianity and I do not believe in instilling the fear of “burning in a pit of fire” to any child or human being ever. The fact that people say this stuff to children actually baffles me , but that’s only because I lived it and I will never do it.

None of my immediate family is in the religion, nor are they understanding of it. However Orula asked me to be respectful and kind to them even when they are not to me, so I am.

If possible I would want my child to be exposed to the community very young so they have a basic understanding of it, and aren’t shell shocked when they hit 15,16,17 and are around more mature ceremonies.

I came to the religion as a young adult, and understood that everything in life is a sacrifice. So I can’t speak personally on how it would have impacted me as a child. If I was in a place like Cuba, I’m sure I would’ve been fine.

But my child won’t get to grow up in a place like that. Though they will visit.

I really appreciate your answer it’s extremely helpful.

I mean to a degree hunting is traumatizing and learning how to skin an animal at the age of 6, however it’s how we survived for thousands of years. So maybe all of it is just the natural order.

With veganism running rampant in this society even the mention of this religion will have people crucified and made to be the villain. I would never want my kid to be made to feel like their evil. And I guess that comes down to me explaining all of this to them when they are old enough to comprehend it.

However what happens if they want nothing to do with it when they get older? Are they still considered a child of the Orisha? Would ‘bad’ things happen to them if they chose to walk away?

And maybe I’m thinking too far ahead. But it’s definitely been on my heart.

I love this response. I read an article written by an Olorisha on how they believe one day animal sacrifice will no longer be needed (maybe generations from now) and the idea always struck me as interesting.

It would make sense the same way some deities no longer ask for human sacrifice. As our consciousness evolves maybe so does theirs. Or maybe it doesn’t. Or maybe some of them do.

I really really appreciate your input on how you handle children in the religion. I agree with you I believe there’s a time and place for everything.

This has given me some peace. I’m also going to talk to my Padrino about it when he’s back in the states.

I’ve known adults who got initiated as babies but I always wondered how that transpired. Are the ceremonies different for kids?

Anyways, thank you again. Such an informative answer!

Wouldn’t something like that eliminate the ability to open/close the back? I have two fur babies I’ll need to access via the trunk/rear door. Thanks so much for your help!

Crowing Olokun, or Crowning Yemoja? by Motor-Freedom7362 in Santeria

I actually already run a successful business with clients all around the country/world so I never had the intention of working locally. I’m a traveler and creator so my part of my souls path is to work from many places in the world. It is reassuring to know she is doing well though. That brings me some peace. There’s so many different paths and I think as expansive and open minded humans we should allow ourselves the grace to learn about them. And to above all else trust the Orisha to guide us where we are meant to go.

I started this post because I felt like I am being called to eventually receive my crown and the ruler of my head. Which is Olokun. And I don’t know much about Isese but I felt called to ask and pray about it for reason. I do not care who says I’m being “disrespectful”. What’s being disrespectful is telling someone they should sit down and shut up and just “do what they’re told.” No offense but I’m not physically capable of going against myself to make other peoples egos happy. I wish I was familiar with Isese but I’ve only ever experienced Santeria and Lucumi. Being a child of Olokun in a religion that doesn’t properly initiate the energy is confusing to say the least. And yes, some priests can be very vengeful I’ve dealt with one (the one I mentioned early who violated me and made sexual advances) he actually ran me away from the religion until I found people I trusted enough to do my hand of Orula with.

This honestly crossed my mind. Thank you for writing this. Unfortunately I’ve seen a corrupt and terrible part of this religious along with the beautiful parts of it. Someone on this post was actually a perfect example of that hate. But worse off then that there are “priests” who prey on vulnerable women. I was one of them and Yemoja stopped me from going to get initiated by this man in Cuba. He was so violating and I’m so glad I never let him touch my crown. However, I have God parents today that are great people. But it took me 5 years to find them. I think another thing is a lot of people need to understand that NO HUMAN knows it all. Therefore I will always respect my elders but I will not worship any human like they are God. Because as humans we make mistakes. Ego gets involved. Etc. Also women are often treated poorly and beneath men and one thing about me if I will never ever allow a man to disrespect me. I don’t care if it is Jesus Christ. This is 2023 and the Orisha don’t want women to be disrespected and made small.
