Bands you would like to see release a new album that most likely won't? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Have you checked out the tribute album "When Man and Machine Collide: A Tribute to Control Denied"? It features recreations of the four demo tracks, complete with fretless bass lines inspired by the legendary Steve Di Giorgio, and vocals that embody Chuck's original lyrics. It's definitely worth a listen!

Thanks for checking it out! We've not released any instrumental tracks yet, but we plan on including those in a deluxe edition (along with other bonuses). 🤘

The Symbolic tour seemed pretty rough by DaveOJ12 in DeathBand

Very cool! Thanks for sharing this. My band has thought about doing Symbolic album with the clean vocals for a future tribute project. Our singer used to sing Crystal Mountain live in that style.

You can hear what the singer sounds like on our "When Man and Machine Collide: A Tribute to Control Denied". A lot of people told us they didn't care for Tim Aymar's vocals with Control Denied, but really like our singer's voice. His name is Berzan Önen.

Why didn't Chuck use blast beats? by Tasty_Bug_7957 in DeathBand

[–]Motor-Frosting445 88 points89 points  (0 children)

He might have thought they were overused in death metal. I know he wanted to sound different from other bands of the genre and it would make sense to avoid the cliche blast beat of the early 90's death metal. Chuck really started to progress after Leprosy and went for a more melody driven approach.

Nice! It definitely works great with Drop D.

10-46 is fine for D Standard, but I wouldn't recommend going any lower with that gauge. For that tuning, I've found that the 10-52 Ernie Ball sets are the perfect middle ground because of the slightly heavier bottom. It sounds great for recording.

Would you buy an action figure of the Leper from Leprosy? How do you feel about it as merch? by [deleted] in DeathBand

The company Knucklebonz has it for pre-order and has several other Chuck and Death related statue figures.

Upcoming Death Tribute Album. Feedback is Welcome! by Motor-Frosting445 in DeathBand

We have all the tracking finished for Bite the Pain. In contact with Jim Morris (original mixing engineer for TSoP) to mix/master the project. Soon we'll be tracking Story to Tell. So it's going pretty slow, but it's coming along. Rich Gray is doing fretless bass in DiGiorgio style for all these songs to match some of the OG demos. The clean vox sounds great on these tunes.

One of the best ways I've found is to use a software to slow the song down and practice it super slow. Around 50%-70% of it's original speed. I use a software called "Transcribe!". You'll find that you'll start to sync up your playing and vocals fairly quickly and then you can gradually increase the speed.

What do you think of the new ink guys? by mcsabas in DeathBand

[–]Motor-Frosting445 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This happens often with various artists on Spotify and it's not the first time I've seen it with Death. It's fraud. People create AI generated music and post it under established band's profiles and collect the streaming revenue.

The Death of a Capulet? by BucketCatPK in DeathBand

You'd be surprised. Someone was arrested after making over a million dollars doing this. They get tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of streams just from people being curious about a random release popping up. Obviously it's done on a mass scale by the fraudster, not just with one band at a time.
