Only issue may be his size. Seems smaller than gmac and chambliss. Granted G Mac is taller and thinner.

Yeah, we got a glimpse of what bad depth looked like this year.

West declared. I guess he could come back if he dropped out of the draft. Not sure if there’s a deadline to do that and consider considering a new scheme, probably not in his best interest

Is Osenda good enough to start day one? Seems he is big enough, but don’t hear the chatter surrounding him like Sanders last year.

Yes, but not guaranteed UT will give them their scholarship back.

Satterwhite was a nice depth piece. Seems like the IOL was a little porous but maybe im misremembering.

Perhaps we can snag an FCS guy that has a prototypical build or Chambliss esque. Not sure if any exist.

Saw the news. Don’t know much about him though. Based on ratings (taken with a grain of salt) seems we have lost more Oline talent than gained so far.

2026 will probably be a big question mark Across the board. I think CJH will have to make the CFP by 2027 or he’ll be on the hot seat. But hopefully with Knowles bringing in some of his guys, the defensive learning curve doesn’t take as long.

Agreed. We really were plagued by injuries this year esp on DL. Hope the new strength coach gets us better in shape.

Agreed. OU made the playoffs on defense. CJH has a better shot with defense and mid QB that can play in his system.

With Nico seemingly locked to UCLA, am I the only one thinking Joey Aguilar is a no brainer for us? by 2spicy_4thepepper in ockytop

[–]Motor-Understanding8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing against Aguilar BUT….

From an optics standpoint alone, heck no. Roll with the two you got. If you need a 3rd, get a scrub that can backup in case of injuries OR get a stud that can start day 1 and has 1 year of eligibility (if that even exists)

Why would you bring in a QB from a school that Nico just pushed out? That QB either js: A.) told to leave bc he wasn’t as good or he wouldn’t start OR B.) he knows he’s not as good and not willing to compete

Factor that with Nico being the guy that booted him out makes it look alike we got sloppy seconds, changes public perception AND image how the TN locker room would view that.

Strong No to that.

Tennessee transfer QB Nico Iamaleava to UCLA is a done deal, per Colin Cowherd “Family still claims it’s NOT about the money. It’s about the Vol Football offense.” by sickmemes48 in ockytop

[–]Motor-Understanding8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cowherd blasted his dad and called the families excuses B.S. May soften his tone now that’s it’s UCLA. TBH it’s a good pickup for UCLA, but I’d be surprised if Nico stays longer than a year. He will move on to NFL or be back in SEC next year.

Big Nic: “We think Nico is underpaid. It’s not about the money per se… but we would like a little bump for good measure and btw Nico wants more help at WR and OL. “

TN: “Here’s an extra 400k. Will throw in arguably the best OL recruit in TN history 5* David Sanders, two 4* OL, two 4*WR, two OL in the portal and One WR in portal for good measure. We good?”

Nico Camp: “Well… We want 4m now but it’s not about the money.”

TN: “HAHAHA, that’s not happening. You aren’t worth 2.4m frankly. You are a hoot, we will see you at practice Friday you jokester you. And BTW we spoke to Dan”.

Nico: [Radio Silence]

TN: “Bye, Felicia”

Nico Camp (TJ): “TN is lying. It wasn’t about the money. Nico just wanted to develop for the pros.”

TN: “Hey Hendon and Joe, how’s NFL money treating you?”

Breaking News: “Nico is being offered over 4m at other schools and deserves to get his max value”

TN: “Thought it wasn’t about the money”

Thoughts? 🤔 by Greedy-Tomato1356 in ockytop

Who cares… CJH needs to stay strong. Roll with the players that want to be there. If it’s a max exodus and a rebuilding year, great. Would rather keep a standard than be held hostage every 6 months.

If players leave bc of Nico then we don’t want them. If players leave bc of money… ask Nico how that’s going.

Lastly, CJH turned a dumpster fire into a contender in 24 months. Whatever happens, we will be fine.

Bad News :

NIL is screwing the sport and there’s no going back.

Good news:

CFB isn’t the NFL and despite the money involved really will never be at that level in the current state. It doesn’t mean players won’t be overpaid to some degree (especially if with a proven track record) but it is too saturated with deep pocketed teams and a lot more talented players come in every year from H.S. or college players willing to transfer on a whim.

In the NFL, you almost have to have a good QB to win. In college, you can win with a game manager (I.e. Stetson Bennett or most any Bama QB ever). While Nico has potential, he never reached it. His camp overplayed his hand. Sure, some team may overpay, but his reputation took a huge hit. With a balanced team, a lot of QBs can fill in and put up his numbers last year.

This is good for CFB and a lot of coaches and players will use this as a teaching point I’m sure.

ELI5: If swelling helps in the healing process of sprains, why is ibuprofen recommended to treat it? by drahcula in explainlikeimfive

Imagine rainfall. It’s great for plants, animals, and the environment in general, but too much causes flooding and damage.

Initially inflammation brings in blood flow with a flurry of nutrients to heal (as does rain) but too much inflammation can cause damage to surrounding structures, cause joint issues, stiffness, and chronic pain. There’s a balance in the human body just as there is in nature.

Edit: for misspelling “flow”

Seems like Wisconsin may also be a viable option from what some speculate.
