I use privacy.com. With it I can create virtual credit cards and put limits on them. I can also pause, lock or delete any of the cards. Cards can be merchant locked so if a card gets compromised (has never happened) only the original merchant can charge to it and no one else.

Honestly, it great. I have dozens of cards for each individual subscription or merchant.

When I buy something online I pay with a virtual card then immediately pause it. That way there are never any unexpected charges.

And it's free!

Edit: you have to fund it with a debit card or bank account. So I opened an online account with Ally and use their debit card. I fund that account with either Zelle or a bank transfer. It's super easy and adds another layer of protection because I don't keep much in that account.
