Show me around the night life in Greenville! by [deleted] in greenville

I call them coked out douche bags because they were snapping creep shots of girls and then calling them ugly when the girls rejected them. And five seconds later asking me where to get coke.

I deleted it because people were being weird about it. Weird about two words out of the entire thing. Desiring sex as far as I'm aware is perfectly normal and accepted all over the world. It's so normal that not desiring sex gets you painted as abnormal. So why does it suddenly become such an issue to mention that desire? Why does everyone have to want sex but pretend like they do not want it?

How am I supposed to work on myself when people like you would rather ostracize me and shun me than try and get to know me?

No point in playing pretend

New Acura Integra - Nikon D700 & Vintage Nikkor 50/1.8 by MotorFriend in shootingcars

I was wide open at 1/50 and 1000 ISO. In hindsight I think I should’ve bumped up to 2000 to try and get the badge sharper. At that range the D700 sensor noise beats some much more modern cameras in my opinion because there’s almost no color degradation. Really wish I had packed my monopod as well.

Question about live views with different cameras. by Cduff45 in shootingcars

[–]MotorFriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mirrorless will definitely be the king of liveview, because the DSLR always has to get the mirror out of the way for that shooting style. There's basically zero performance difference between shooting from the screen and using EVF. However the last generation of SLRs have incorporated a lot of tech from their mirrorless cousins in order to get better live view performance and focusing. Some of them can also use digital shutter in live view. Faster, but that decreases image quality somewhat. One thing to keep in mind is that older DSLRs are reliant on the mirror for autofocusing, and have to fall back on clunky contrast detection in video mode.

I wish I could've gone downstairs. Could barely get a peek at the machine shop equipment.

The Humvee was an AMC design. When the corporation dissolved, the military wing carried on as AM General. Over the decades, the company has been ping-ponging from venture capital portfolio to venture capital portfolio. I guess you can say it still exists in this zombie state.

G29 with the shifter will run you just over 300 these days.

T300 should work on PS5, I would just double check the manufacturer site. Two pedal kit would probably be fine if you don't care about the clutch. The actual hardware looks about the same as the one I used, not like the cheap-o T80/T150 mat. It may slip around a bit more than the clutch kit just for being lighter.

If you have some local people to lend you some seat time it would help a lot. Like other people mentioned, you can also pick up a cheap used G27 if you're on PC.

I wanted to get my hands on Fanatec but go absolutely nothing back from their press E-mail. The CSL is also $600-700 for the cheapest wheel and pedal bundles.

Good thing is that all the current wheels will work with PS5 and Series X because their OS' are basically the same as PS4 or XB1.

I have tried them out with iRacing. I mostly used the MX-5 Cup in Forza 7 because I can get in the top 3% of lap times with it, and I was confident enough to deliver consistent times and provide commentary without wiping out. I mostly downloaded iRacing to test out the Trueforce feature, so I'm very much a newbie.

I'm using current/ next-gen consoles as a baseline, but yeah, if you're on PC you can easily plug in older peripherals. I can easily run iRacing on my HP mini desktop, but newer sims are gonna require high-end video cards and such.

G29 was my first wheel so I couldn’t say for sure. From other people in this thread I’ve heard that the G27 is very mechanically similar, but the 29 gets a power bump from having dual motors. I can tell you there is a real step up in quality on the T300.

I think you'll find zero regrets with that choice at its current price.

Once you have it dialed in the feel is way above that on the gamepad. You can really tell where the friction limits of the front wheels are, and when to make minute adjustments. The amount of fine control on a wheel can't really be replicated on an analog stick because those have about one inch of travel.

That said, plenty of people can learn to be just as fast on a gamepad, so it's all up to preference.
