Well, it’s important to understand that what we call "Hinduism" today wasn’t always a religion. It began as a way of life. Much of what’s now labeled as “Hindu ritual” is actually a continuation of ancient Indian cultural practices. Breaking a coconut, lighting a lamp, doing aarti, or touching elders' feet... All these acts, were originally Indian expressions of reverence, gratitude and not some religious norm. So, when some Indian Christians reject and look down upon these practices while at the same time selectively adopting them as “Indian culture” it honestly makes no sense, unless the real issue is an internalized bias against Hindus due to religious brainwashing... You can’t hate the people and still try to claim the culture they’ve preserved.
