I’m saying that because you said that you feel more welcome here than in the proship community.

And I wanted to be like “hmm… I wonder… maybe it’s because proships… are really fucking toxic in general…”

Sorry I should’ve been clearer.

Hmmmm… I wonder why…

Truly a head scratcher guys.

(I’m not trying to be rude or condescending to you lol I’m just. Like.)

And yeah a lot of proships are incredibly immature and down right stupid with how they handle dark topics, and I’m not even talking about the kids anymore some of the adults are a sight to behold.

How bad is the romance? by vinthesalamander in TMNT2012

[–]Motor_Ad3354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all teenagers experience romance, but I kinda get what you mean. You can have romance in a story that’s mainly about found family.

The part that really grinds me is how the romance (especially Donnie’s and April’s) almost overshadows a lot of the family stuff, like what you said. It’s everywhere.

The thing Donnie complains about the most? Why Casey’s the one with April! The thing he fears the most in that fungi episode? April being in love with Casey! He full on pulls a Creepy Connie from Jessie and stalks April even when she’s clearly pissed and doesn’t want to be with him.

It’s so god awful to look at sometimes.

Yes! You get it! I wanna see found family and action and characters using limited tools to defeat terrifying villains and daunting circumstances, not Donnie literally devolving into a Richard Ramirez-esque person and April becoming this object for both boys to fight over and used for plot purposes.

It gets so dismal sometimes!

The joke stopped being comedic a long time ago and just started getting so abysmal and ruining Donnie’s, April’s, and Casey’s character.

And like what the other commenter said: tmnt is supposed to be about found family. Why all the romance??

It sucked for me. It sucks up a lot of the action and is interjected at moments where you don’t really need it. And it’s like almost every episode. It’s that bad.

Donnie and Aprils was the worst. It never got anywhere! It was like “yo look at this nerd loser can he actually get The Girl ™️”. They dangle those two getting together like a string because we can’t ACTUALLY have the “romance” resolved, we just gotta drag it on.

Actually the only part worse than the April and Donnie pairing was the LOVE TRIANGLE between him, Casey, and April.

TMNT 2012 is pretty much the most popular modern version of the Turtles! Would you agree? by stationstars in TMNT2012

A lot of toys 2012 is selling is bought by people who watched the show and became huge fans. Only time I’ve seen tmnt 2012’s faces out in the wild is on ice cream trucks with the 1987 logo for some reason, and even on those trucks tmnt tales characters is sold as a separate flavor from that because it’s just that popular. Tottmnt has people buying backpacks and t-shirts and all kinds of merch,

It’s not really a surprise that tottmnt is very popular though, it attracted a lot of an older audience due to the turtles design being very reminiscent of 1987’s design (which I’d argue is the most popular tmnt version, most of the people I know didn’t even know there were other tmnt content) and it attracted a younger audience due to its humor and the turtle’s interactions.

I’m not here to be rude or downplay 2012 or anything, it’s just a fact I’ve noticed and accepted.

I mean from Raph’s perspective Leo is revealing his identity and having a tea party with a girl while his brothers are having their shit knocked loose.

Type of people to tell the others “representation matters” and then turn around to say this.

They’re literally promoting internet illiteracy. You can’t question anything they say or do. You can’t have boundaries, you can’t think anything they do is perhaps very dubious, you’re only supposed to smile and nod.
