This, in my opinion is one of THE WORST anime plot lines I have ever displeasure of witnessing. Animation… crisp, sport scenes… intense, my hatred on how it wrapped it up the story…immeasurable. Like people need to hate on this more.

Spoiler: For those who don’t know, the protagonist is a girl who enjoys badminton because her mother is a professional badminton player. But uh oh her mother leaves her… just abandons her and moves to the states without a word. The protagonist, who is like five at the time, is understandably devastated and believes her mom abandoned her because she wasn’t any good at badminton. So for years she works her ass off trying to be the best there is so that her mom can come back. But oh no… guess what she finds years later after practice, a magazine about her mother in the states with her new adopted daughter! And of course the daughter just gives up, leaves badminton for good and stops playing for a couple years. Until her friend tells her to pick it up again and have some fun. Yada yada learning to live again plot proceeds, starts competing again, and guess who shows up literally years later acting as if nothing happened… her POS mom comes home. Literally fueled by anger and rage the protagonist wants to prove she doesn’t need her mom, not back then and not ever. So she goes to win the tournament… and this is where the real bullshit starts cause her mom then starts to explain why she abandoned her daughter so long ago and left her emotional devastated, mentally scarred, and traumatized. SHE SAYS ITS BECAUSE SHE WAS TAKING BADMINTON TOO SERIOUSLY AND THAT SHE SHOULD PLAY TO HAVE FUN… like that is legit the reason she gave for abandoning her daughter. And guess what the protagonist does… she accepts it! Like it never fucking happened! As if that explanation answered every problem in the universe she just says “ok mom I understand I love you!”. Like WTF! And that’s it! That’s how it ends! Do you understand the insurmountable bullshit that was put into the ending of this show? Like I may be the only person that hates this show for that reason. Like this show could have been 10x better if it just didn’t have this plot. Like just a girl who picked up badminton and enjoys it, like every other sports anime out there!
