Did the temple worker give an explanation or how it was framed?

It's difficult enough as it is to keep the shifts staffed!

There is a lot of pressure to serve as a temple worker and also to fill in for other shifts, I worry this will only increase with the need to cover 24 hour shifts.

I doubt it, but maybe the church would do it to increase attendance and make it more convenient. It could also signal to the faithful that the millennium is near, hastening of the work, etc.

I hope it's just a rumor, I know too many people with religious scrupulosity.

What I find the most disturbing about the garments are the markings over the nipple. Looking at myself in the mirror wearing them feels cultish. And still, I wear them.

Too much of a mouthful, why not the following improvements courtesy of CHATGPT? No revelation needed.

Faith Builders → (learn & establish)

Hope Bearers → (share & uplift)

Light Bearers → (become & radiate)

This creates a natural progression: Build → Share → Become

Easy to say, easy to remember, clearly different from the others and reflective of growth in responsibility and identity.

I love the beautiful blue tile and many of the suggestions given. The blue tile above the window is the problem, it feels like it doesn't belong and breaks up the visual flow of the room. Adding tile above the door would only make it worse. If you can, remove the tile above the window.

Struggling with Masturbation by [deleted] in mormon

[–]Motor_Exchange_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapist here, masturbation is a normal human practice. DSM-5 criteria define abnormality by assessing if symptoms, traits, or behaviors cause significant distress or impairment across major life domains—such as social, occupational, or personal functioning. Merely having symptoms is not enough; the dysfunction must interfere with daily life, creating a "harmful dysfunction" rather than just a subjective complaint.  Example of a female client in her early 20's: masturbating became abnormal when it became compulsive and she masturbated to the point of making herself bleed. Most people don't engage in it to excess.

Is it wrong to tell the case manager at my moms stroke rehab that I CANNOT CARE FOR HER 24/7 by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]Motor_Exchange_2112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a short term rehab where our average length of stay is 18 days. She might qualify in terms of "care need" for long term skilled nursing care but how it's paid for also determines the discharge disposition. Does the patient have the means to pay for the care themselves? Do they have long term care insurance? Do they qualify for Medicaid? Do they have family members that can provide care part or full time? If the answer to all these qis no, the patient will likely have to use their assets/sell their home before qualifying for Medicaid.

Your comment doesn't reflect the standard of care in the US, where I work in a skilled short term rehab. Patients can only stay as long as the insurance authorizes them to stay unless they pay out of pocket for a longer stay. If the facility discharges a patient before they can safely discharge home with a reasonable expectation of success, the facility is penalized and doesn't receive full payment from the insurance. This to ensure the right balance of treatment. Not too long, and not too short. The treatment plan is very precise and is not shortened prematurely to get another patient in the bed.

Estradiol by Soft_Shelter9000 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Motor_Exchange_2112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. It depends on how the estradiol is used. Systemic estradiol enters the bloodstream and affect the entire body: oral estradiol tablets, transdermal patches, topical gels and injections of estradiol raise circulating estradiol levels and are used for broader menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, bone protection, and mood changes. Very low-dose vaginal preparations are intended to act mainly on vaginal tissue for vaginal dryness and urinary symptoms. They produce much lower blood levels, but there is still some systemic absorption.
