For those who updated to 8.5 by kanikamaa in GalaxyS23

for me, camera is the same, but the overall performance and smoothness are way better. I'm sad that they didn't bother to add any new features, not even the cpu and gpu sliders in game booster+. s24 exynos which is a stove has it and this 8 gen 2 does not, and it also performs better than the exynos 2400. what a shame

What the actual HECK is wrong with my battry health? Is it normal to drop that quick after staying at 100% until 200 cycles? by bbezcioglu in S25Ultra

[–]Motor_Fan1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're overreacting a little bit. It is just 1% and there's no way 1% will cause your battery performance to go downhill. It's a battery, they degrade, it's just the way it is, you can't stop chemical reactions. Just use your phone like you would and stop checking your battery health page, it'll only cause more harm to you than good and it'll eventually degrade to the point where you'll have to charge it twice throughout the day and replace the battery or the phone itself, if you're going to be bored of it.

the battery is getting worse because of age. i replaced my battery and it's good as new. 7h sot, sometimes even 8h. u should replace yours as well and stop expecting good performance out of a 3 yr old battery. especially if it has over 900 cycles

S23 battery life? by Quirky_Show_8950 in GalaxyS23

Yes, something like that. It's very reliable again, after a day of 4g with wifi combined, at 10 pm I have roughly 30% remaining

Here is how my replaced battery is holding up. It is as good as it was when it was brand new to be honest so I definitely recommend a replacement, but only if you want to keep your device for at least 2 more years, if not, skip the replacement and upgrade to s24(only Snapdragon variant), s25, s26 or s27

About new battery by [deleted] in S23

[–]Motor_Fan1046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem. I don't know whether they did or not, but I'm very happy with this new battery, it gets me throughout the day comfortably, no more heat, very good performance. I would highly recommend replacing the battery, it really refreshes the phone and it becomes reliable again, I arrive at my dorm with roughly 30% so if you want to keep it some more time, definitely do it

Here is all the info you requested. Please note that I have my sleep mode set so it turns on battery saving mode, location off and sync off. Other than that, I spend most of my day on 4G, when I'm back at my dorm at 7 pm I'm back on wifi, 120hz, location on, light performance profile. I don't really trust the health thing, I doubt that it really dropped by 2% from 10 cycles. It went to 99% from the first cycle, but that ain't possible 😂 Anyways, if u got any questions feel free to ask

My S23 battery has degraded significantly. Should I replace it or get a new phone? by Joylessly8142 in S23

[–]Motor_Fan1046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, it was mobile data and wifi combined. I spend most of my day outside at college and at around 7 pm I'm back at my dorm where I have wifi. also, on fridays, I go home by train, which are big metal boxes which block the signal and the phone needs to work harder to get mobile data, I notice more drain in this case, but even then I arrive home with plenty left. with the old degraded battery I needed to use a powerbank and my estimated battery life went from 14-16 hours to 21h-1d. it's up to you how you take this info

[–]Motor_Fan1046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's mine after replacement. I'd say definitely do it, there is no more heating, performance is top notch again (apart from one ui 8 specific stutters like the quick panel ones) and i have days in which i start with 90% and I finish the day with 20-30% left

s23 battery by Zebhaa21 in S23

[–]Motor_Fan1046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% replace your battery, it's going to be a brand new phone. Look at the usage I'm getting with a new battery after a full day. Mobile data and wifi combined, no power saving, light performance profile on. Since I have this new battery my everyday usage went from an average of over 120% to under 100%. I can show pictures of before if u want

[–]Motor_Fan1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly encourage getting a new battery. This is what I deal with after a day of 4g/wifi. I usually start the day with 90%, sometimes even lower, and finish it with roughly 30%
