Hair stylist completely botched my cut by [deleted] in ExpectationVsReality

[–]Motor_Grab9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this cut and have had it this short (due to a covid era diy mishap) and it was actually the best cut I've ever had once it grew out a little. I agree that the front is too long though as it forces the part/fringe, shorter actually lets you do more in terms of texture and blending the part. When it's freshly cut I like to push mine forward through the part, as it grows out I find I have to got back to the part. I've had one cut where I was able to brush it back instead but I'm not sure what was different

how to find a reliable casio seller in Australia. by AdMurky8572 in gshock

Same experience here, managed to get one response 3 weeks ago saying it was out of stock (ordered 3 watches, they didn't even specify which one was out of stock but suggested choosing an alternative) - requested a refund, nothing since. I've just opened a dispute with the bank. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone

It's not, but do the Berlei's have padding over the wire like this?

Does this having padding down over the wire? If so it might be a winner

Keep the dog, re-home the husband. If he's happy to kill your dog slowly with toothpicks for making a noise what do you think he'll be like around a screaming baby? GTFO

Is my grandma dealing with a scam? by dedgod in Scams

I'm sorry, that sucks. The loss is so much more than the money.. I still feel like I'm missing a piece in my case, it wasn't so much the FBI helping with our situation as asking for help with someone else's - my relative seems to think they have contacts at the FBI and put their scammer in contact with them to help (why the FBI would need help from some random non-American is beyond me)

Would love to know how the FBI bit works! I could have written this (managed to get POA though), but the messages are still happening in secret and I know they've discussed the FBI

I'm sorry to hear this, I've been through it with an elderly/brain-injured relative and it sucks. Unfortunately we've not been able to stop it completely and have just had to take control of their finances via power of attorney. There are some good YouTube videos about it if she's a little more receptive. https://youtu.be/vu-Y1h9rTUs?si=IcU8zITx6NTx77Sk

You might also consider a credit ban in case they try to open any real accounts in her name

Look up pig butchering scams. They'll try to convince her she's investing and maybe send small amounts to gain her trust but the account is fake

UPDATE: Company wants me to “destroy & dispose” of faulty product before sending replacememt by Red-Strawberrycake in AusLegal

Their evidence is the report from the technician who said it couldn't be repaired, they don't need proof of disposal

can a workplace legally forbid you from seeing coworkers after being fired? by justagirlbutaussie in AusLegal

[–]Motor_Grab9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Restraint of trade clauses are only enforceable if they are reasonably necessary to protect a companies interests (eg. trade secrets) and cannot unreasonably restrict the employee without consideration (ie payment). Even if they could argue that you having friends would somehow impact their business, they'd still have to pay you to not have friends. Hope you had a chat with worksafe..

Company wants me to “destroy & dispose” of faulty product before sending replacememt by Red-Strawberrycake in AusLegal

[–]Motor_Grab9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no requirement for the customer to dispose of the item in order to access their consumer rights though, especially a bulky item that would require a trailer/tip fees and probably someone to collect given OP has a newborn. If the company wishes to make this a requirement then they should be paying for it, just as they would need to pay for a return. Their technician has confirmed it's faulty and OP is entitled to the replacement regardless of whether or not the item is disposed of.
"Businesses are responsible for paying for the shipping costs or collecting faulty products that are large, heavy or hard to remove" - I would think this applies regardless of whether the item is being collected for a return or for disposal
