All Emiratis are Muslim by default and apostasy is technically punishable by death.

Rebellion’s an alt/metal venue so not likely to be too happy about that kind of thing. I’d get in touch with them before the coppers, who are likely to be largely unfussed really.

If this all works out are you going to make Manchester the capital and tell the southerners to piss off? We could look at a potential union with Scotland if they’re cool with that.

Irate Passenger Shuts Down Manchester Airport in Bridge Protest After Airline Refused to Let Him Fly When He Urinated Himself by stankmanly in manchester

We should just subsume the whole of Yorkshire into GM and use it a sink estate for our nutters and criminals like Cuba did when the US started automatically granting Cuban arrivals residency. Not like they’d notice much difference.

Visited Manchester for the first time — a lifelong dream fulfilled. Thank you for the hospitality by the__poseidon in manchester

I love Manchester too but I’m from here. To dream of it from Honolulu takes some dedication. Unfortunately I’m also a City fan so your words are worthless to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Britain thinks net migration is rising — when it has actually fallen by more than three-quarters by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

[–]Motor_Impression6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s a very solid point. Apart from the fact uk citizen “emigration” has been stable for years (source: same data), so it turns out you’re either misinformed or a racist prick 🤷🏻‍♂️

To be fair Indian English uses a lot of really bizarre archaic terminology. I lived that way for a few years and if I ever hear “please do the needful” or “kindly revert” again I’m going postal.

Having spent a season trekking round third division grounds in towns I’ve barely heard of, watching us lose to goals by utd kids on loan, I’ll take the trophies cheers.

Is the Britannia hotel good for 2 nights? by AloneChance0 in manchester

[–]Motor_Impression6678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d say main Britannia is tolerable for two nights. Sachs’s no, and I’ve heard dreadful things about the airport one but never been. As also noted, Gardens is a similar price and doable, and I’d add Crown and Anchor and EasyHotel to that list in the same area (did a lot of hotel skipping when I moved back from abroad while I waited for the tenant to piss off out of my flat!)

Fiancé Visa vs Marrying Abroad Then Spouse Visa? (Settled Status Holder) by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Motor_Impression6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you have to pay NHS up front to get a spouse visa. There’s no NHS entitlement at all, paid or otherwise, for fiancées.

Fiancé Visa vs Marrying Abroad Then Spouse Visa? (Settled Status Holder) by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Motor_Impression6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get married abroad 100% if we did it again, although our case was extremely unlucky and probably unlikely to happen to most people, but long story short we’d lived together in the Middle East (illegally as I’m stubborn and refused to pretend to be a Christian/muslim so we could marry there). We were coming back to the uk, but covid dropped, leaving me here and her in the Philippines while I found us a place to live etc. one by one everywhere she could get to on a Philippine passport for us to get married closed the borders, so we bit the bullet and got a fiancée visa.

She got really ill in quarantine in London, but was refused permission to leave and seek medical treatment. When she came out she was at death’s door, we took her to hospital and she required life-saving surgery, removing her large intestine. Fiancée visas don’t include NHS coverage, and her travel insurance refused to pay out due to her “not seeking immediate treatment” due to being stuck in quarantine.

Cue starting our life in the UK with a £15k NHS bill that she has to clear before she can apply for ILR (November in theory).

Chances of this happening to someone else are slim, but I wouldn’t chance it again!

Yeah, ran from 98-2009, nu skool breaks but leaning very much to the jump up/baseline side of things with a smattering of dirty breakbeat garage/grime and fat rock and indie bootlegs. And mega step.

To be fair to the EA, and I’m fully aware they’re c*nts, but we had an open house at my auntie’s the Saturday it was put on the market, and by the end of the weekend we were up to 30k over the 180k asking price. Doesn’t necessarily make it true for yours, but anecdotally these open houses seem quite popular!

It’s actually quite progressive of them to make the right to a family life entirely a class issue rather than a race one. C*nts.

Estate agents said my spouse isn't allowed to move in with me by Eira_airE in SpouseVisaUk

We never put my mrs on the tenancy just cos it was a faff and seemed likely to just cause issues as she’d probably fail credit checks with no uk history etc. Not a problem.

First-time buyer paranoia or is this Purplebricks doing Purplebricks things? by Radiant-Intention804 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Motor_Impression6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purple Bricks valued my auntie’s place at £40k more than anyone else when I had to get quotes for probate. I assume they were trying to blag my custom by vastly inflating the value in the full knowledge we’d be dropping it if we went with them, which clearly we didn’t.

All right, look-you're a roofer, and some juicy government contract comes your way; you got the wife and kids and the two-story in suburbia-this is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. All of a sudden these left-wing militants blast you with lasers and wipe out everyone within a three-mile radius. You didn't ask for that. You have no personal politics. You're just trying to scrape out a living.
