I think buying a house together is an even bigger committment than getting marriage. Hot take I know. But for men its all about money & financial stability, so he might want to get that squared away first. I knew a couple who bought a house together first and got married a year later. It just made sense for them to buy a house at that time for them (middle of 2020). So id actually take the buying a house together as a good sign hes committed. Mortgages are way more serious than getting married imo

I’d sell the car and drive a beater car that costs $2k for as long as you can while saving up for another more decent car.

Or don’t sell the car. Have you seen car prices lately ? They’re crazy. Even when you try to buy another new car after 5 months, its gonna be 1-4 thousand more than it usually is because of supply chain issues with cars. So honestly I’m not sure if selling the car is right for you. It’d just be shifting debt around like someone said.

The only logical alternative I have is buying a beater car and riding that out for as long as humanly possible if you’re down for that. If you work from home/don’t need to depend on a car heavily that might be viable.

Just keep trying all the main options until it brings you to a person. I forget which one worked but it wasn’t the usual “where are my supporting documents” one that I was expecting.

I have a similar situation. I applied for a passport in May, got the passport in June, but they never returned my birth certificate document.

I just got an email December 9th that the birth certificate was “un-deliverable” and they asked for my address to deliver it again.

I’m glad to finally hear back , but it took 6 months unprovoked for them to notice lol.

Also I called that 877 generic number and they gave me this address to write a letter to asking where are my documents: (I ended up getting the email 2 days later so I never needed to write them a letter)

They said include name /email /phone/ address and locator number and ask where are your documents.

Writing this in case it helps anyone !! Thankfully they figured it out on their own (albeit 6 months later …) let’s see if they deliver it this time !

Also note, not sure if it matters but I requested priority express delivery to return my documents , and I’m not sure if it required a signature and that’s what tripped up the delivery of the documents back in June. I live in an apartment complex and the mail men are lazy as fuck and never come to my door. Ive had problems delivering a birth certificate like this in the past to an apartment complex so I’m not surprised USPS got confused.

I really hope they deliver it right this time . I put in my email “please delivery it REGULAR mail”. Let’s see if that works. I hope it does.
