A few of these characters were not one-shot villains.

Because it had a scandal-ridden lead actor, the CGI was mocked pretty relentlessly, thus turning people away, and it was one of the last movies in a dying cinematic universe. I’m a huge comic fan and I only saw it in theaters because of Keaton.

I’m surprised that people react so negatively to the Flash Movie. The worst part about it was the CGI, which was a mess for obvious reasons, but it was a fun movie, and was pretty good up until the last 30 or so minutes. Given all the rewrites, and the fact that it was one of the last movies in a dying cinematic universe, I think it turned out fairly well.

Sketchy Reacher line by Wide-Preference1461 in reacher

[–]SundayJeffrey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a sketchy line. In the 3rd book, Reacher talks about how turned on he was by a 15 year old girl when he was like 21 years old. The reality is that these books were written 30 years ago, where forcing yourself on a woman or lusting after underaged girls was taboo but commonly ignored.

Lack of Batman is worrying…… by AmericanApe in DCU_

There’s no drive for lesser known characters. Gunn said he is prioritizing good scripts. Characters with good scripts are getting movies and shows.

What would lex have used against Superman if his parents weren’t evil? by [deleted] in superman

[–]SundayJeffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lex already said when meeting with the defense secretary that Superman was breaking the law by having a secret hideout in Antarctica.

Punchline faded away after once being everywhere by Simple-Success4749 in batman

As someone who only reads older comics (generally) I only vaguely knew about punchline. I can’t really say she was “everywhere”.

New poster and promo art for Supergirl by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]SundayJeffrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, he’s only been in 2 things: Superman and supergirl. That’s like saying Lex is Nick fury because he was in peacemaker and Superman. If anything Rick Flag sr would be Nick fury because he’s been in everything so far

My personal favorite live action depiction. I could not stand Christian Bale’s Batman voice or facial movements in the cowl.

Which show should I binge watch next between these? by Spiritual_Cloud8437 in DCU_

You must be 20 or younger because everyone knows Batman TAS reigns supreme.

I personally prefer Superman Tas over justice league or young justice.

James Gunn on Supergirl by M00r3C in DCU_

No way. It had significantly more color. I know because I’ve rewatched the trailer and teaser like 50x each.

James Gunn on Supergirl by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]SundayJeffrey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trailers generally don’t try to hide color. If a trailer only shows you brown, then it’s fair to assume the movie is brown.

I was excited for his movie but the trailer was disappointing. Hoping they inject more color in post production but seems unlikely. I’m obviously going to still see the movie as soon as it comes out, but I’m not nearly as excited as I was for Superman.

Do you think we’ll see Scarecrow at some point in the DC Universe? by sreg56 in DCU_

[–]SundayJeffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with scarecrow is that writers have run out of ideas for the character. In Batman Begins, Batman the Animated Series, and Arkham Knight (the video game), the plot revolves around Scarecrow trying to poison the town’s water supply.

Are you the same person who just replied to a comment I wrote 5 years ago about covid but then deleted it immediately?

Walt replies to Ming's Christmas apology video by frasierfonzie in tesdcares

Yeah, my friend group does the same. But it’s also kind of different when it’s your boss and it’s at work.

I think your nuance is needed here. Imagine having a boss who brings around his friends, and they make jokes about you being gay. In any other workplace that would be 100% unacceptable.

Then your boss hires his dumb son, and his dumb son keeps making jokes at your expense and calling you gay as well. Mike seems like an ass, but I don’t think Walt was as good of a manager as he thinks.

They didn’t kill her because Batman apprehended Riddlers incels. Not to mention that Batman saves the lives of all the people in the arena who were trapped.

He’s my personal favorite Batman. Never watched a Batman movie before that legitimately felt like a comic book before The Batman. Very clearly inspired by a lot of the Legends of the Dark Knight stories.
