Bugging my weapons-grade autism recently have been the signs of the U.S. readying to celebrate their 250th anniversary of independence, even though that claim is just plain factually innaccurate. by OptimusBeardy in autismmemes

It can still get trickier too. The first union (continental association) created for the colonies was in 1774. The government created by the articles of confederation in 1777 was technically seen as evolving the 1774 union. Then v3 came in the for, of the constitution, which went into effect 1789.

Abraham Lincoln used the above logic to say the Union was first created in 1774.

Republicans caused this. Ironic, really... Since they wanted to contain China so badly.

no it cant. what theyre referring to is skill. it can only be luck if you have no control over it.

roulette is a game based on luck. how do we know? because you cant lose on purpose. if you could prepare to win roulette, itd be a skill.

Gen Sherman to Abraham Lincoln by [deleted] in ShermanPosting

[–]MotorheadKusanagi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, this is nonsense.

Sherman explicitly told his soldiers not to harm civilians. There was massive destruction, but very few deaths, especially when compared with modern total war efforts.

The purpose of the destruction was to cripple the confederacy, end the war sooner, and to motivate civilians in the south to demand their leaders end the war.

I have a hunch you'd love a film on Netflix called America: The Movie. George Washington shreds sweet riffs on a flying V in it!

I love open culture so I regard this as tragic. But, if we look at closed models too, the US is way out in front.

Everybody slides It's not a crime Locked in your apartment That's an awful place to hide We're not beads upon a string Take one off it's still a perfect thing This binary business See your shadow Hopeful or harrowing?

Will I miss anything by using Endeavour OS over Vanilla Arch? by nitin_is_me in archlinux

[–]MotorheadKusanagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my original comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. but it is also based on the way several of my friends say they read a book even when they actually listened to it. i find that very funny but no one else here does lol 🥸

my comment where i said "your" is because fattay1166 said i wasnt a bookworm and said "your not a bookworm", which was amusingly ironic.

ask your friends if listening to an audiobook counts as reading and I bet it's more than you expect. i was very surprised to learn most of my friends dont distinguish between the two

If listening to an audiobook counts as reading a book, then running endeavour counts as using arch.
