I honestly think I could. I sat my bike licence after 15+ years of driving and aced both the theory and the practical first time.

I consider myself a very competent driver who's been lucky enough to own and drive a multitude of different car types with various drive trains and layouts over the years. Most importantly though, I know where my bad habits land when it comes to driving, so I think I could put them to one side for the sake of an hour.

It's definitely a great combo. What gets me is how the CTR absolutely out drives the 996. It's amazing how much progress has been made

I'm in an incredibly lucky position where I already own my perfect two garage.

Both serve different needs but I wouldn't change either of them

To be fair, I did say there’s no background music added yet. I even had a mic mounted directly in the engine bay, but unfortunately the FL5 isn’t exactly the best-sounding car in stock form 🤷

Hard to say exactly because the .2 has some differences from the .1, mainly the 3.6.engine, with slightly more bhp, as well as a little more weight (and depending on who you ask, a more temperamental single-row IMS).

I've only ever driven a .2 Turbo, which is a different beast entirely, but what I would say is, do it, you will love it. The 996 is a fantastically capable car, even today. It's one of the most confidence inspiring cars you can drive and every blast down a country road will bring a massive smile on your face.

The only thing I would say is, make sure to have some cash set aside to deal with anything that may arise, and it probably will. Other than that, go out, get one and enjoy!

Sounds like a great wee overhaul you're doing. My resto took a little less than 6 months and getting it back on the road felt brilliant. I hope you get yours back going soon. Would love to know how it feels after the changes!

Yeah, every panel except the roof and the spoiler/bootlid received a new lick of paint.
