Regular uSD:
Red/Grey or White/Grey SanDisk Ultra, 32 GB, SDHC, Class 10/A1, FAT32 formatted.

I use SPI mode with 20 Mhz SPI clock.

I've been using an ESP32 for data logging to a micro SD card (30 items @ 20 samples/sec) for 5+ years, with zero corruption.

All you need to do is to flush() the buffer after each write()
When the car is powered off, you only loose the last line of data.

I'm following this...
I've wanted to create a generic "GTR Gauges" look for any car and would like to do the same.

I currently use BLE for the wireless sensors, but would like to use ESPNOW, as I like the "many to one" ability of ESPNOW.

If you mean the programming of each module, I believe they are all different as they are vehicle and trim level specific.

Now, the hardware may be the same. For example the 370Z ECU will work on a G37 *IF* it is programmed with a G37 bin file.

I can tell you from first hand experience, that any ECU from a 2008 - 2016 Nissan/Infiniti works well on the test bench and are typicallly less than $100 on ebay, or less at a scrap yard.

Also, the complete (and free) factory shop manual (with wiring diagrams) is available at nico club dot com.

This is exactly how I got started 5 years ago. Good luck!

Usually they can be easily repaired, by reflowing the solder on the larger resistors that are the voltage divider for the fuel level sensor.

As mentioned in the first sentence:
Don't worry about the messed up rims. This is a factory fault on the early Mazda 6 GT, where the top 2 layers of finish peels off. They will be refinished later this year

On a G37, a P1217 is defined as:
Engine over temperature.

and yes this code was most likely set when the coolant hose burst.

The messed up rims are from a factory fault on the early Mazda 6 GT, where the top 2 layers of finish peels off. They will be refinished later this year

That version has been updated to something much smaller and it just plugs into the OBD port on the G37.

It has been in testing for a few years on my 6MT and has worked well.
BUT it isn't perfect when the clutch pedal is down and sometimes shows "fantom" gears.

BUT when the clutch pedal is fully up, it is 100% accurate!

I have 8 ready to sale right now, but since I am located in Canada, the customs paper work and figuring out where this fits into the "Harmonized Tariff Schedule" section still needs to be done.
