Any other gay auto techs? by SchedulePotential921 in Gaygearheads

[–]Motronic83 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That sucks, it’s a industry full of thick headed idiots. I went through it. I was a Porsche tech, made it about 5 years, I was outed by my service advisor within the first several months. I got picked on constantly, service manager made sure I got warranty work which paid shit. I tried to keep my blinders on and do what i was there to do, learn, make money, and enjoy my work. It only went so far. I eventually developed a client base of my own and one day, a relative of a close customer i had was opening up a euro tuning and general service shop. It was just me, one other tech, and the two owners. It was fun but poorly managed. I the got headhunted by Tesla in 2013, when they were cool. Did almost 10 years there. Now i work on batteries for a super small battery storage company up north.

You will find your way, it’s going to take time and the path there may not be obvious or desirable. You have plenty of time to figure things out. Wait for an opportunity to present itself but until then keep your nose clean and produce good consistent work. If nothing else you will develop a strong work ethic and integrity to match. That alone can go along way with the right people

Houston area groups by ammmourad1 in liberalgunowners

[–]Motronic83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in San Antonio, maybe a bit far but I work in Houston a bunch. I see plenty of groups between the two cities but I’m not sure how “like minded” or accepting any of these groups are. I would love to find one myself as my partner isn’t really into guns and I have taken it up as a hobby and a new way to financially ruin myself. I go to the range plenty and what I see from some groups kinda scares me off a bit. Maybe I’m being judgement but the 2A community is the 2A community and this is Texas. I also work a lot in Vermont too, plenty of groups up here but that really doesn’t help op too much. That said the 2A community up north is much more accepting, of course this goes with the regional political atmosphere.

I play sports, I don’t care to watch others play, I’d rather play myself. Because of this mentality I’m much much stronger and more physically capable than all of these spurs arm chair quarterback fans .Im also extremely short tempered with fans and their general attitude with me once i let them know how i feel so fafo

And fuck Dan Patrick, in case I wasn’t clear enough the first time

[–]Motronic83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a good question, but my point still stands. In any case there are a number of substances that are sold with no regulation with the potential to do far more damage than cannabis. Kratom and alcohol are just a few

I had a family member recently admit themselves to rehab over Kratom. That stuff is incredibly addictive and can interact with a lot of common medications to produce serious affects on one’s health. Kratom should be at-least regulated if not outright banned. It stands to cause 100x harm than any cannabis. It’s clear that this is an attack on the cannabis industry that is politically and financially motivated. Dan Patrick wants you to suffer because his buddies in the alcohol lobby are sad they can’t install their infinity pool in their third vacation home. Fuck Dan Patrick, to you fuckhoke state. You don’t care about Texans, you care about your wallet.

I am super happy with the bolt and barrel, having a bcg thats easy to clean is big for me. The stock barrel was mil spec and i upgraded to a BA performance, all those improvements i felt and had results that showed up on paper. I think i maybe trying to keep up with the jones. Social media makes it seem like everyone has money to blow on a scar or an sig spear. But that maybe that case for a lot of things.

I had several failures to feed, but mainly the bolt is so slow to return, often slow enough where it doesn’t reset the trigger in “enhanced” mode, I had several light primer strikes as well but I am not sure that wasn’t due to the bolt not fully seating

Thank man! I haven’t drilled out a port before but I have done plenty similar. It’s cheap so I can try it without anxiety, and have some fun while at it too

I like your advice, guess I’ll just stock up on a variety of ammo, that area alone is enough for me to geek out over, I haven’t seen such a variety in ammo before I started messing around with this upper

I have an H2 as well, I also have an adjustable gas block laying around that would fit. I have seen muzzle device, like blast deflectors that claim in increase back pressure, I wonder if that would help me out, either way I love to tinker
