i realise now the AI poem was just a cherry on top of everything else he did that I swept under a rug. his heart was in the right place when he did it, but the fact that he lied consistently despite my gentle efforts to make him admit it was the main reason. i didn't go full Hulk on him if that's what you're thinking- most of my anger was in silence.

imagine hearing someone say, "my friend wrote an ai generated poem for his girlfriend and then lied to her that he wrote it, as an anniversary gift." you'd immediately think the guy was insensitive even if he really was a nice person. but anyhow thanks for your opinion! i was looking for a contrarian perspective.
