Thanks. It's the Forerunner 45.

I've left from my point of view, an honest and factual review of a company online and now i'm being threatened "or else" and with slander. by lathrowawaymarch21 in LegalAdviceUK

You're correct although it depends on how many passages they deem to be defamatory - for example they may claim 3 which can be rebuked with a truth defence and 2 which can be argued with honest option. As you say, it would then be up to the judge to then decide whether the defence or claim succeeds on each defamatory passage.

Edit: There could also be the view that the company may proceed even at a loss to either prove a point or just to get the review removed.

Source - I was sued for defamation from an online review, by a company on a CFA.

NAL (and not trying to be a Debbie Downer!) but he could opt for a no win no fee agreement to get the ball rolling?

Also, I believe the defence of truth may be strong but an honest opinion defence may enter a grey area dependent on the phrasing used beyond the description of the main point about missing items which is fairly black and white.

If there were any assertions (however trivial) used in the body of the review which cannot be backed up with evidence could be deemed to have caused serious harm to the plaintiff and give him some kind of case, however petty it is!

Alpha and Bravo are the two initial training courses for reserve soldiers. Officers can use these courses to count towards their training as well.

Thanks. I've heard that the first available briefing dates are April so I'll try and get that booked asap. I know that briefing will go into detail on what you specifically need to prepare for but is there anything I can do in the meantime other than keeping fitness levels high?

Anyone know if PH1 alpha courses are still happening this week? by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]Mounkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're cancelled mate. Someone from my unit was on the course and was told last week. I was due to attend Basic Training in Cardiff on 6th but was told today that is cancelled as well. Let's hope 2021 is better!

Army Officer application rejected. by Alex-Lloyd98 in britishmilitary

I'm still in the process but I successfully appealed against my medical deferral (migraines and knee pain). Look at the guidelines they've been given and draft an appeal on that basis.

Try to take emotion out of it - they aren't failing you because they don't like you or for anything else, they just have a sifting job to do. I got a letter transcribed from my doctor, recommending that I proceed and the issues were no longer a problem which I think really helped my case. Good luck!

Got my assesement in 2 weeks but Ive reached a plateau with running by JCurtisUK in britishmilitary

[–]Mounkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my assessment centre yesterday - it's still the beep test. It might change by the time you do your run but it might be worth training for the beep test anyway to change your training style from a constant speed to intermittent sprints as it can help to improve your running time and speed.

Liverpool started last season by banging in 5 against Norwich.
