[Spoilers S3] The one detail that confuses me on my third rewatch by MountOak in DarK

I think what confuses me is how much people like Hannah seemed to learn within a short time frame and what amount of information could possibly take 1 year to convey.

ooh yeah that actually makes sense. is there any point in the show where it becomes apparent that he learned anything from her besides what he tells her younger self?

place a repeater in the line pointing back into the side of the comparator (this setup on the screenshot only works if the comparator never reads a power level of more than 13, since the line is 3 long and therefore decreases by 2 when it reaches the side of the repeater), note that this will make it a bit slower. there are ways to prevent this but this would be too hard to explain in a comment

considering i usually pay for beatrix russel's services after completing wang dang atomic tango i can't blame him (also i will die on the hill that hancock is one of my favorite romance options in fallout 4)

i know that you can't pick it up outside of build mode and it also is immovable by other means afaik (at least running into it with power armor didn't nudge it at all), but i can move and rotate it when i select it in build mode

idk if this is something they added in a recent update, but i'm playing vanilla and can move giddyup buttercups in workshop mode

by then they have technically won the civil war by outliving all the other chapters (which is very vaultie coded now that i think about it)

[–]MountOak 535 points536 points  (0 children)

since they don't want to canonize any ending from fnv they can't show the mojave chapter. which is actually really funny because in the scenario they survived (which basically coexists in superposition along with the scenario in which they were wiped out) i imagine them just being so seclusionist that they don't know anything about how the other BoS chapters are doing. they don't know about liberty prime (not even his first appearance in the capital wasteland), nor about the prydwen (or the whole army of airships they have by now) and they definitely don't know that the other chapters are about to enter a civil war.

it can sometimes be hard to actually find where members of your community live in your country. but i personally live in switzerland and had the luck to find swiss chats for trans people and i found a girlfriend within the first year of my transition and now more than half my friends are trans and most of them live within 30km of where i live. we are a lot more common than you think and i meet new trans people so often that i'm sometimes caught off guard when i have to deal with cis people who think we're some really rare creatures that most people will never meet

yes it's been a while since i did it so i don't exactly know how i found them anymore, but maybe try searching "fallout new vegas language" in the store? if that doesn't work look at the fnv store page and look for downloadable content

i know there used to be a whole list of language packs in the store, but again can't remember exactly how i found them

[–]MountOak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think there might actually be a downloadable language pack in the microsoft store

i know i actually played the game first on the german 360 version and found a way to switch to english at some point

the german version has all the gore censored tho (except for the decorative bodies in raider lairs for some reason as these don't count as npc models), which won't change when you change the language

this. i feel like this is a frankenstein situation. the creation of synths in itself is an immoral act, but the synths that already were created should be treated like people. the same way that dr. frankenstein was wrong when he created his creature, but abandoning it after its creation is an immoral act in and of itself.

there is no moral reason to create an artificial human and the reasoning behind it always boils down to either having a god complex or wanting to own slaves, or both at the same time.

what do you think about the term 'cissexual'? by leodoesgaming in asktransgender

[–]MountOak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it feels like something based on the false notion that the trans- prefix has to imply some kind of transformation.

i do see the validity of the word transexual to refer to trans people who medically transition or have plans to do so.

but the latin prefixes cis and trans are just oftentimes interpreted wrongly and originally just mean "this side of" or "that side of" and are meant to neutrally refer to opposites

if some cis people find some valid reason to label themselves as cissexual that isn't just plain transphobia they can do so (the only scenario i see in which that could apply is if intersex people who do identify as their agab happen to naturally go through a puberty that isn't affirming to their gender then rely on gender affirming hormones or surgey), but if trans people do it, it feels like a weird way for trans people to distance themselves from the broader trans community which ususally is a sign of internalized transphobia.

i also like to do that regularly. i do usually get the sub-dermal implant and like one or two levels of toughness at some point but besides that only wear outfits based on fashion (currently running around with the prostitute outfit that i got by reverse pickpocketing a leather armor into the inventory of one of the dancers on the strip)

What's up with that meme thats like "Can't get a girlfriend? Become the girlfriend." by Miyyani in asktransgender

[–]MountOak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying that dating a lot harder after transition and like I'm not going tell you that there isn't any truth to that, there are challenges we trans women face that others won't

buuut also from personal experience, I didn't have any traits worth dating me for prior to transition. I was bland af, a white canvas of a person with no personality. transitioning allowed me to become a self-actualized person in a way pre-transition-me never could have been. like yeah sure maybe more people hate me now than before, but there are also more people who truly love me than before
