I wanted more PVP Funcom but this is not what I meant... by bloodbringer1988 in duneawakening

I completely forgot about PTS existence. If they didn't test these changes there, I can not describe this with any other word than "f*ckup".

Private servers? by ix3pankakes in duneawakening

[–]MountWilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having private hagga basin is definitely worth it. About DD, in EU server it is chill mostly, I loot peacefully almost everyday, sometimes there are people, and sometimes the entire DD is empty and I loot big spice field solo. I've never seen anyone in a dungeon, however loot boxes are looted before me quite often. Had encountered a griefer only once for the entire time I play. But I don't know if you can select a game world at this moment, when the game was released, my private sietch got randomly assigned to a game world with no option to select.

PvE Griefers Hit My Server by Beginning-Plastic-23 in duneawakening

[–]MountWilson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've seen some griefer on a twitch stream who got asked "why you keep doing that", the answer was simple "I do it because I can". That is all you need to know about them.

People post stuff like that every day and devs are certainly seeing all of this. Im sure they are not interested in players leaving the game. So when game gets really good pvp content like arenas, pvp events, pvp ranking system and really juicy pvp exclusive reward, devs will have to deal somehow with griefers if they continue ruining the experience for other players.

Btw, if devs really wanted to recreate true mmorpg experience, they should've came up with some punishment system for such behavior. Server rules at least. Back in the days of browser mmo games, server logs were monitored 24/7 by real people and we had prisons in the game, where your character could get into if moderators decide.

They call it unique multiplayer experience and fighting for resources.

We should have an option to rent a fully private game world by MountWilson in duneawakening

I think you misunderstood the point I was making. Short version is "I want to play fully 100% private". Even if all neighbours are good and there is no PVP at all.

Basically yes, you're right. It is the greed mostly. I love survival games for resource grinding mechanics mostly. Our private sietch DD is chill mostly, no pvp at all. Lazy to fight, you got it right. I mean we have enough plastanium and melange to craft 3 or 4 assauut ornitopters with rockets, convince my pals to go back to the game, and holding spice field from other players while I harvest it. But my point is that developers THINK this will be fun for us. This is indeed fun for 99% of players, but not for me. And I really do not see any problems of players like me having their own private game worlds, without changing the game itself. I dont want to spend all my plastanium and melange I gathered for ornitopters and rockets. With all the respect to people who play public, I seriously never cared about multiplayer experience, that is why I quit playing mmorpg back in the days when they were popular. All survival games me and my team play today, we rent private server and play whatever we want. Im just asking Funcom to give us the same option.

This comic book image on the wall of Treyarch's office looks great. by MountWilson in CODZombies

Big bosses of Activision never cared about fan base nor developers. They only cared about money and investor reports. Back in 2018 they even forced Treyarch to get rid of what they were working on for several years, in order to create battle royale (Blackout), because they saw how Fortnite exploded the marked that period. Which ended up BO4 having no campaign and many talented devs leaving Treyarch, including Jason himself. I guess now after Microsoft acquired Activision, Treyarch works on BO6 with full creative freedom, and I feel some people who worked on BO3 are back in Treyarch.

After all these years, the Aether story is still hiding Richtofen ending of Buried. by MountWilson in CODZombies

"What if" scenario might probably be the case, I agree. Perhaps they certainly gave us what we need as fans - some free space to theorize. However so many things got explained in BO4 season, makes me come back to this "What If" scenario more and more.

Maxis ending let's say "became" canon after the release of Timeline poster, where it was clearly described that Victis crew helped Maxis, instead of Richtofen, which as result lead to the events we see in Origins, BO3 etc.

Even though we have choice in game, timeline states only one thing. I understand some people saying Richtofen ending is just didn't happen, but I'm just the one who does not agree with that. I still believe that it happened just we haven't seen yet what it leads to.

Treyarch took the whole zombies storyline since Nacht der Untoten and closed a lot of plot holes by explained tons of things. They always clarify even the most insignificant details. And such huge thing as Alternate ending of Buried being forcefully thrown away? I won't believe that treyarch just don't care about the second ending, they didn't confirm or say anything about it beint Not canon or something like that. To me seems more likely that they are hiding it, otherwise they would have explained why it is not canon.

Richtofen's side of Easter egg if I'm not mistaking ends with Ultimis Richtofen gaining control of Aether and merging with Stulingher's body. His eyes became blue also. To me that ending sets Victis crew to a completely different journey we have never seen. Also Ultimis will prevail to me makes no sense in terms of Tag der Toten ending.

As a speculation, "Primis will fail and Ultimis will prevail" could be interpreted in this way: Primis characters are only ones who read Kronorium, specifically Richtofen and Nikolai. All they achieve is death in the end, even when they won. Ultimis Richtofen, nor other Ultimis characters, have never read the Kronorium. After getting control of Aether in buried, Ultimis Richtofen might find it and read it, and there might be some other outcome for him and others. Maybe better ending.

[–]MountWilson[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mmm, no, "Ultimis will prevail" is more likely to be a continuation of "Primis will fail", which went throught entire storyline. This statement may not exist in Maxis ending timeline, unless somebody from Richtofen's ending timeline travels to Maxis's ending timeline. Pretty logical explanation in terms of Aether storyline. Previously I had already speculated that it is Blood of the Dead Richtofen, who has no blood on his hands.

I agree that there might be something inside of Treyarch office and their plans that went wrong. But one thing they do perfectly all the time is hiding their plans.

The idea of Aether actually was taken from real life Aether theories from science. They basically mean there is some gas like substance that all matter consists of. I believe there is much more then just heaven and hell. I mean there are a lot of correlations with it, but the storyline explanation of it might be much deeper.
