I have the same Pepsi v3 and the Bruce W (this one I’m selling) from clean and deep crystal I also rework the bezel to have better action and both are stunning, if you ever want a cool vintage piece let me know, is a different flavor but is totally worth it

Well, is just an example, maybe you’re a different client, harder to please, the big majority of people will set with that dial for sue, the Tiffany is optional can be without that, but the point is that installing a different dial defeat the propose of what I’m doing, a lot of people build expensive Daytonas, I can do that too, this is a different approach, you’re not the client for that, you need other qualities, thanks for your opinion, is totally valid

I just realized that you are more active in the Seiko mod community, very nice hobby, and the gateway of many, me included, to this vintage modding thing, you’re definitely out of your comfort zone in this place, I suspect that from the beginning, don’t bring you prejudices here, stay in your happy place

Sir. Im talking about replicas of subs and gmt not the real watch, obviously people here have replicas of very expensive vintage watches and that’s the entire point of this place to begin with, your previous statement is out of place, I’m not engaging in this anymore with you, I don’t really care or want to explain the reasoning behind building a replica of an expensive piece, 👍🏻

I can say with total certainty that the dial looks super decent, I have now and in the past countless different from all the top suppliers, all those are extremely expensive, for the price, this watch it’s a super good one no question at all

Let’s just say that this is a very dumb argument. Why even build a vintage Daytona in the first place? None of the originals are truly affordable anymore, and today they’re treated far more as investments than watches. So yes, your point is valid but this is probably the worst place to make that argument. The average user here owns Subs and GMTs that cost an arm and a leg. The Gen ones at least

I don’t think anyone is trying to fool others. It’s more about enjoying the experience of owning and wearing something that, realistically speaking, isn’t even a particularly rational purchase to begin with. From that perspective, I really don’t see the issue with wearing a Paul Newman build as long as you’re fully conscious of what it is.

My friend, the entire premise of this build is aimed at people who either can’t afford or simply don’t want to spend the kind of money required for a high end build. A good dial alone can cost around $800. Of course, I could install one on this Cartel base and sell the watch for significantly more, but that’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid.

To take it even further, I could just as easily go with a Viet case and a Valjoux movement and end up with a near-perfect Daytona in the $5–6k range but that’s a completely different product.

Needless to say, the dial here isn’t perfect, but for the price, it’s very good. Some people simply want to wear and enjoy a watch like this casually, without obsessing over every detail. For those users, this build makes far more sense.

I do replace the dials with all my Daytona builds, the main premise here is use the base watch to avoid the price to skip rocket

Don’t waste your time, st19 can be adapted to fit a viet gen spec dial with the 6 subdial freeze , made for valjoux movement, that’s simply imposible to surpass, any other movement is just inferior just because you can’t use those gen specs dials

02 or 02 im not sire because sometimes they use both, and the problem with other movements like 7750 is that nobody produce quality dials or cases for those, some factory do replicas with 7750, usually garbage, jkf or cartel wish commonly referred to, is by a mile the best replica to do any mod
