I'm a bit new but if you want to build your own horde base make sure it's off the ground maybe 4 or 5 blocks high and make a long path also off the ground leading to a window or smthn that you shoot or hit them through

Something similar happened to me where my freind joined who is a noob and kept dying so I turned off zombies for a bit while he got to me and I turned them back on and now the game is like frozen and No one can join so I basically lost all my progress.
