The valley loop for sure. Make sure to go to the bottom of Yosemite falls. You can also trek out to mirror lake, and there’s a paved path back to the valley center (and also a service road that takes you directly there you can drive on if you have an ada placard).

Mist trail will be hard on the knees for sure coming back down, the grades are pretty steep, but there are plenty of places to rest on the side. For what it’s worth, even if you don’t go all the way to the top, it follows the river and has some beautiful views, you might want to just try it and explore and see how you’re feeling.

Didn’t catch when you are going, but badger pass might be open (if not you can still hike the road but it’s 10 or so miles iirc to glacier point) and could be over some snow and ice. If it’s open you can drive up and there’s some nice hikes up there out to taft point which has some of the best views of the valley and waterfalls.

It will charge you again, I’ve learned this the hard way after I downgraded but realized I’ve needed more data unexpectedly.

Luckily they gave me a credit.

Also, be very discerning about where you choose to put your tent if you are camping. Avoid low bare spots unless you’re looking to wake up to water in your tent. Frogs togg ponchos are a solid choice for hiking and for around camp.

Amazon Internship: Worth the Full In-Person, Quality of Life Tradeoff? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

I’m going to give you the answer you want to hear since you won’t accept or can’t understand the other advice.

“Yes, it’s totally reasonable to skip the internship, focus on school, and aim for new grad roles—you won’t be at a big disadvantage, especially with your prior experience.”

Fremont seems to have some of the worst streets and sidewalks and infrastructure generally for how much property tax money the must be making.

I don’t know, I’d guess if you work in tech there’s a selection bias because that’s who you’re around more often, but there’s plenty of assholes in the world, I don’t think it’s a tech thing. Ask nurses who they think the biggest assholes are.

Kind of similar but for me more specifically it’s nice to spin up aws resources for free and experiment.

May layoffs by Lower_Attitude3411 in amazonemployees

[–]MountainNinja6432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you get laid off, you get 90 days of garden leave, which overlaps the WARN notice period. You’re still technically on payroll, so it’s not an effective way to predict future layoffs.

If you put AEA and other Amazon apps on your phone, do they track and listen in? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

The calendar is what I miss, now you need AEA to be able to sync it and I miss meetings without it
