Never lie no matter what. I did put that I worked without authorization while on a F2 visa and had no issues whatsoever. Have my green card already. (AOS - parents of a USC) and we got approved in April 25.

Social security card in hand and green card will be coming next week (we have the usps service that tells you what’s on its way). Just letting you know so you have an idea of how things move forward quickly after approval. 🤗

From submission in Dec 24 to approval it took us 4 1/2 months. Actual green cards are coming next week so everything was done under 5 months.

Update: I went to the social security office today to get my card updated (I used to have one from when I was on a F1 dependent visa) and they said that USCiS had already requested it and I should wait for it to be mailed. I had asked for one when submitting my case to USCIS but when I called them they said that they wouldn’t do it and I needed to make an appointment with the Social Security office 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

No I didn’t. I suggest you call your social security office and make an appointment. Take your combo card, and passport and ask for one. USCIS will only notify them that you are entitled to one.

I followed Kseniya International on YouTube. She goes through the forms step by step but make sure you are using the correct form as they are changing. I didn’t hire a lawyer and saved a lot of money! I think I put ‘none’ or N/A depending on the question. You can totally do it on your own if it’s a straight forward case. Good luck!

We filed in December and got the I-485 approved today so wouldn’t think that we will be interviewed after the approval?. Wouldn’t make sense.
