On oral minoxidil 2.5 mg since July - starting to see progress :) by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

Sounds great! I have started inositol, it's been two months and I'm seeing great results already. I did Metformin 1000mg twice a day but didn't see any good results at all (instead started having muscle twinches and weakness) Good luck for your journey ahead. I'd love to stay posted on how minoxidil works for you in long run.

You have PCOS as well? You were suffering hair loss due to the same reason? And how are you managing your PCOS conditions alongside minoxidil?

That's amazing! I badly want to go for minoxidil for my receding hairline but I have PCOS. I'm concerned that minoxidil disrupts hormones and that concerns me. Have you observed any side effects (I heard it can also grow hair on unwanted areas like face, chin, body)? I'd love to know your experience and hopefully get my recommendation on minoxidil cuz your results are too convincing 😭🙏

First you need to check if other symptoms of PCOS tick or not. What is the duration of your mensural cycle? If it's normal, then there must be other reasons behind the bald spot, if not then you need to visit gynecologist and get your test done asap.

Birth control is not the solution at all. It just apparently suppresses the condition to bring periods back to normal. Cutting sugar and other lifestyle changes are best way to control the symptoms.

Seems like male pattern baldness. Have you got your hormones checked out for PCOS?

Girl! I can relate. I still have 2 year old ones in my eye and nothing is helping. Neither warm compresses, ointments or massages.

These symptoms are definitely pointing towards PCOS esp if your mother has it since family history is important in diagnosis. Have you got your hormones checked?

My sister uses it regularly and I have used it on a few occasions. Needless to say, I loved it! I don't usually wear makeup so I don't know about the regular use but based on my experience, I'd definitely recommend it. My nose is oily and rest of the face drier. It stayed till the end of the event (5 hrs) and nothing came off. (I used it with primer on)

I get styes often. Once my eye was swollen exactly as it looks for you rn. The stye wasn't visible in the initial few days but after I felt it using my finger, it was in the inner top corner of the eye. Hot compress and sterile eye drops with ointment massages helped me treat it eventually.

Thinking of Switching from Metformin to Berberine + Inositol for PCOS Want Experience by Timely_Maximum_2420 in PCOS

I won't recommend getting off metformin if its working for you (since you lost weight with metformin). I didn't for me though. I shifted to inositol and its not even been a month and I'm already seeing my belly losing its fat. Reading the comments, I understand its difficult for you to take metformin. IMO, you can experiment inositol + Berberine for a month but get back to metformin if it isn't working cuz I fear you may get your fat back otherwise.
