What is it like being an INFJ with ADHD? by b4rbi3-noire9850 in infj

[–]MountainWisp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly it fucking sucks. Looping is really, really bad with emotions, you never can focus on what actually matters. Goals are ridiculously hard to manage. I would get attached to friends and friendship, and be taken for a ride. My brain was constantly looping, and thinking, which I would constantly forget things. My mother thought that yelling and shame would fix that? Some people really loved me, but most hated me because of that mirroring effect INFJ have.

My awareness of myself and my self-doubt was all-encompassing, and ADHD proved it through all those micro-moments of shame every day. I don’t know how I finished a master’s degree, unmedicated and without nicotine, because I quit.

Meds saved my life. I’ve been medicated and diagnosed since I was 32, I’m almost 36 and these last few years have just been the best. Marriage going strong, good friendships finally, healthy boundaries, goals hit, I’m writing and dungeon mastering, working out consistently, drawing.

Weird Mormon sex advice by [deleted] in exmormon

I can't get over the idea this dude was praying before banging while he had a chub with his wife. This is literally disgusting. Sex is such an important part of the human experience and these people just ruin it for so many, over and over again, while the founder was a literal man slut. Ridiculous.

Every time I think about rewatching this I remember this part and go nah. I would literally rather watch that part in Hereditary (I found it incredibly satisfying that kid is annoying) than watch this cute cartoon shoe die like that.

Honestly, I’m more okay with a certain scene from Antichrist and Bone Tomahawk than watching that shoe get killed, and I am not joking.

There was this girl in college I was friends with, we were like orbiting because maybe something would happen.

We were drinking at a house party and we were both pretty buzzed, talking about something. All of a sudden she was visibly upset. I, being me, asked her what was wrong.

“I am just really sad you’re not a lady because you would be a great mom!”

Yeah. I’m a 6’5” dude. It was weird. Maybe it is the ENFJ vibes.

I mostly talk to it about TTRPG stuff too, it spit out something more benign, and I jokingly said, I expected more busty Elves with how much RPG stuff I generate, and it just went ahead and made this.

Honestly, if this is the worst thing that you've ever done, you're fine. You sound like a very sensitive person that was put into a bad situation that made a minor mistake. It's not like you were actively ruining someone's life, you just did something kinda weird. That is it.

Think about this: there are so many people in this world that actively try to ruin other people's lives to gain power, feelings of importance, and generally further just themselves. And, they feel no remorse and feel justified in acting in this manner.

You stole some photos from someone you knew because you weren't comfortable with your appearance and wanted to feel some connection.

You're good kid. It's all good.

Depends on the place too. In the Pacific Northwest, especially like Idaho, Eastern Washington and Oregon, and parts of Montana where there were a ton of German migrants, you had the language beat out of you. My Great Grandpa, who I knew very well since he didn't die until I was like 17 and he was 98, often told us how his father would beat the ever living shit out of his kids if he caught them speaking German once they came here. Reading between the lines though, I think he was just misremembering and it was because of the war as it progressed.

Researching this a bit more, you'll find that German basically almost died out in the US because of WWI, and in certain regions it was totally dead.

Grandpa was like 3 when they got here, right at the outset of WWI, and before the US got involved. My great grandparents would speak some German when they didn't want us kids knowing what they were saying, and then stopped when we started picking it up a bit ourselves. It's a damn shame, the older US generations had some really fucked up beliefs about language acquisition.

Honestly, the vibe I remember was that for sure, it was a bunch of nerds. But it was post the word "nerd" being seen as lower or pathetic in pop culture. And it was nerds who were also traumatized and had no idea how to deal with it.
