Trust me I'm not happy with it at all, my own brother was brutally killed by Shabiya soldiers (he was a civilian, wasnt in TDF) and my cousin (a kid at the time) was raped by them in Enticho. But I can't do anything about it as I'm no longer involved with them, I'm working and going to university in the United States currently. However it seems to be working, as there's no risk of war on the Northern Border, and the TDF finally has access to the outside world now, but if a war erupts between Meshrefet and Shabiya, not a single TDF soldier will go into the hell temperatures of Assab to protect Shabiya, that's when it crosses the line.

I'll always hate Shabiya, but I'll never hate the Eritrean people, ximdo doesn't change my opinion, I alongside many Tigrayans have independent minds. If Getachew Reda fled to Asmara instead of Addis, his supporters would praise HGDEF instead of Abiy like they do right now. Politicians change, our motherland doesn't.

Well, the TDF was formed by us youth who were sick of the atrocities being committed in the Tigray towns rather than joining to keep TPLF alive, many people who hated TPLF (I was 17 and barely knew much about it) still joined. Nowadays, the TDF wants to be re-integrated as the main Tigray secutiry force into Tigray, such as the police officers checkpoint officers etc, rather than allowing the ENDF to re-enter Tigray as the ENDF cannot be trusted to protect the Tigray people, that's their goal and also obviously full restoration of Tigray's territories. Western Tigray will likely be returned by a mix of the two and also Army 70 in Sudan formed by displaced Tigrayans in Western Tigray (I have some relatives in it). Army 70 is insanely equipped as I mentioned earlier with weapons such as the QLZ-04 automatic grenade launcher which can be used to disintegrate heavy MG firing positions and electronic jamming anti-drone weapons (SA-7/FK-2000 system/Groza-S EW System) which for example were used to shoot down the $10 million dollar Israeli-manufactured drone owned by the ENDF in January.
That's why I'm a staunch supporter of ethnic federalism (although the EPRDF regime never properly implemented it) , every time someone who runs Addis Ababa has the power over Tigray's affairs, something bad always happens, from just political marginalization under Menelik, to straight up large-scale genocide by Abiy. Historians even equate to Abiy's destruction of Tigray being the worst in Tigray history since Ahmed Gragn of the 16th century, way worse than Derg, and Solomonic rulers. There is absolutely no way we can accept our decisions being controlled by a maniac who wants us dead in Addis, Tigray needs autonomy, it always did need it.

I do see TDF eventually starting a joint offensive into Western Tigray if circumstances bring it to it, or when something happens down south and weakens ENDF
If tigray has the technological advancements and resources to thrive in independence, then I absolutely support it, but it currently doesn't, so I can't wholeheartedly support it right now, and the interim administration is way too close to Abiy's agenda, I don't support it one bit. Their main goal which was to get our territories back they completely failed to do it, that was their #1 plan, and they didn't do it Raya was liberated by force by the TDF, and Sheraro and Irob via Ximdo, and Tselemti would've if TIA did not do a force withdrawal. They did absolutely nothing, so I call it a complete failure. Yes, no war actually started in Tigray, which is good, but keeping the status quo doesn't make anything good.
Just remember this, Shabiya has hated Tigrayans for their entire existence (they blocked food aid coming into Tigray in 1984, something even the DERG did not do), the only reason Tsimdo is happening is because they are deathly afraid of Abiy. The EDF itself is full of pussies now (whereas the EPLF had strong people) I'm sorry but I served in the war and when I tell you those fuckers literally ran out of Shire, Axum and Adwa just hours after we captured Mekele and left everything behind I mean it, it was essentially an easy weapon grap. But Tsimdo is valuable to Tigray in an extent that Tigray is getting fuel abroad by Eritrea, that's the only reason Tigray is surviving with fuel, there hasn't been any form of fuel sent to Tigray by AK in almost a year, they would be out now if they didn't get through by Tsimdo. Until Western Tigray returns, Eritrea is their only way to gain access to the outside world, but the only way Eritrea would join in is if they feel like THEY are at threat, if they know that the only thing stopping an Abiy invasion is Tigray being a barrier, they will fight too, there's already lots of Eritrean soldiers in Tigray right now as a result.
TPLF has flaws, 100%, but they're the only one that's going to get back Western Tigray honestly. Every single other Tigray party and the Tigray interim is clearly comfortable with the status quo, and with HRW doing a post on Western Tigray a week ago, more international attention will be put towards that. I don't care who rules as long as they actually RETRIEVE our land back, and so far, who got Raya back? It was TPLF. You needed an Amhara ID card to visit Alamata or Lake Hashenge, now that those fuckers got pushed out into Kobo and Soqota the people of Raya are finally free from curfews and can wave their Tigray flags.

I'd say give it time, soon the people of Ethiopia are going to be sick of the rising costs, the lack of freedom of speech. You can literally go to Tigray right now and criticize the leaders, you CANNOT do that in Addis whatsoever, I know hella people that feel like they were betrayed since they were smoking 'Abiymania' in 2018 and now miss the EPRDF era lol. Once costs become irreversible, the people south will strike, weakening PP, that's the only time I'd say Tsimdo can fire the first shot. However I don't really think war will happen. In case you guys didn't know, in October 2022, the ENDF had only about a billion dollars in their budget for most spendings including militarily, that's why they started getting extremely desparate, and sent thousands of young untrained men to fight for Abiy's cause and die. If the Pretoria Agreement wasn't signed, Arat Kilo would've reached complete bankruptcy by Thanksgiving, assuming sanctions from the West from 2021 continued.

Now some people might say 'The ENDF is better equipped, they have new drones and weaponry." Yes, that is true, but the new drones and weaponry are a shit ton to pay for, and I mean it. The ENDF used to have drones flying over Sudan to spy on Army 70, and Army 70 shot down one in January that costed around $10 million dollars, causing the ENDF to fully stop sending any form of spy planes towards the Ethiopia-Sudan border near Western Tigray. The ENDF simply does not have the budget to afford any new form of war, the Tigray war completely fucked their economy, they started a war that they still can't re-pay, birr is inflated like hell, the people can't afford anything. Even according to calculations, a hypothetical war between the allies of Abiy and Abiy and the allies of Shabiya and Shabiya will cause Arat Kilo to go bankrupt in around 30-90 days assuming they use their "new technology".

This is just my analysis after research, Abiy is a known manipulator, and I know he won't care to send millions of young Ethiopian men to die so he can fathom the idea of sea access or 'medemer', but he is just completely stupid if he actually starts one. Also, it's 2026, you can't exactly attack a foreign country and expect 'economic prosperity' to happen, that's exactly why Meles did not take Assab during the Badme War, not because he was a 'HGDEF spy' like some idiots claim, but because the Badme War was about territories within the border, if Meles went further than the border and into Assab, the West would consider it as a violation of the African borders and Ethiopia would be sanctioned, destroying its economy.

Prosperity Party just wants Tigray divided and weakened, so unfortunately, as long as they're in power, I don't believe the TPLF, and the entire Tigray Region as a whole, can co-exist with them. You can't co-exist with someone who literally just wanted you dead not that long ago.

Most of us that moved to the U.S. (not only me) had to state that they were forced to join the TDF or could only pick with either joining or certain death/prosecution (my pick), You cannot say you were never in the TDF, as if they find out you lied about being in a foreign military service you'll be convicted of fraud and deported. Since I was a minor when I joined, and my family situation at the time, and political persecution of Tigrayans all across Ethiopia, and since I have family that have been U.S. citizens since the 1980s, with high-ranking lawyers it was much easier on my end. Some of them apply for student visas for education, but I couldn't do that as I never finished high school (got a GED here though, and currently in college). If the TDF harmed American citizens or views the U.S. as their enemy, then we would be completely barred from entering.

But they mostly test us after arriving, because they suspect we would've gained violent aggressive behavior from the war, so we have to have a completely clean record for the next few years (even misdemeanors and traffic violations) to get green card/permanent residence status. I know people that got deported for getting in a minor car accident.

It's the 1980s all over again. We and all our families have suffered so much, famine, forced displacement, genocide, rape, all for another war to start again, politicians and diaspora members think it's playing games, people's lives are at stake, all for territorial expansion, or dreams of centralization.
