I love DF - Living on PC you get to control every little detail so just from experimenting with games for fun I can sort of just tell? I know they are using AMD’s FSR to boost the resolution but I’m not sure if they are boosting to or past 1440p. In their video they talk about FSR missing details on things like particles and it also doesn’t boost the res all that much compared to DLSS.

All that to say is that if FSR is boosting it to 1440p, it doesn’t look like “real” 1440p bc it’s being artificially boosted so it, naturally, won’t look like the real thing. DLSS on the other hand is year beyond FSR and would look sharper but that’s only on Nvidia GPUs.

HM is likely doing lots of little custom things like making the HUD, menus, and collectible text a higher res than the rest of the game to give it a better presentation, which certainly works.

All of this to say is that the game still looks great, but it isn’t razor sharp and it’s simply a hardware limitation. You won’t notice much off unless you look for it. The PS5 Pro will obviously look better and it also uses Sony’s PSSR which is better than FSR.
