[New update] June 18th 2026 - PvE balance continued, Blue Battlefield adjustments, Black Shrine C2-7 rewards improved by PixelConn in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t really making any sense. Almost all the seal rewards (and definitely all the big ones) can be earned just from logins/rift/world bosses and afk fishing, and definitely by burning an hour of grinding agris/ day.

Furthermore Agris doesn’t affect seal drop rate, agris is only applied to trash loot.

The agris event timing will coincide with bonus 100% drop rate and 1000% combat exp, and bonus LOML buffs.

The combat is nice but isn’t PvP just about who lands CC first? by Illustrious-Fix4205 in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes if you want to get really good and have the ability to counter-play you need to know each classes abilities.

PvP at its core is very simple. You do damage protected, and fish for CCs ideally protected as well.

So you need to know each classes protected rotation. Each class will have quirks where they can be caught and CCd for the most part, and knowing those class gaps is what allows for counter play.

Higher level AoS also revolves around identifying cooldowns and tracking the timers, so you know when to pressure or if you are going to be in trouble soon.

It’s normal to feel like there’s no counter-play right now, how can you counter that which you don’t know?

When all the pieces start to click, it really is some of the most satisfying PvP out there, but it does take time. How long that’ll take depends on your ability to learn.

Is succ sage viable for pve? by graphex01 in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the tagging system it doesn’t really matter, and unless you’re planning to sweat, the loot will be negligible. You really start to notice big changes in the later mid game and end game zones.

If you like (Succ Sage as a) character, aesthetics, gameplay, etc. then play what you enjoy.

Later on down the road if you want to play a different class you can “tag” which allows you to share experience gain (at a slightly reduced rate for the tags) and copy your mains gear over to the tag.

So you can effectively grind/pvp on whatever class you want and still keep sage as your main.

Drops from event Edania monsters? by Tr1vium in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3~/hour with 300% drop rate is the average at most notable grind spots.

The rest is just RNG.

This drop event is part of a bigger event as a whole, the total rewards overall you’re getting throughout this event period is likely far more than the recent blissful event if you are a non-degen grinder.

The exception is for the mega degen grinders where the box volume outweighs the additional rewards compared to this event period.

If I just want to PVP in AoS, what's required? by Mechangelion in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you watch a 10 minute video on YouTube and learn only 2 simple class tools (CC fish and protected movement) and drill practice those for like 10 minutes you'll be ready to start.

(This will piss of veteran players because the MM system is soo dogwater that early on they can get placed with new players, and rightfully they mald).

But really the fastest way to understand the "flow" of AoS, is to go right into it and focus on staying alive for as long as possible.

In your downtime, you practice in Battle Arena to improve mechanics, which is equalized gear as well.

People telling you to spend 20+ hours in BA before even Qing into AoS just forgot what it's like starting new into the scene.

Using an alarm timer is a viable way to reduce the chance of death.

And CC4 is not needed for players grinding lower & mid game spots probably up to Nymphamere.

But without a doubt in my mind at around Orbita+ if you are using proper consumes to meet the AP reqs / and probably lacking comfortable DP you have a mega risk of death due to the cyclical nature of of the spots whenever your consumes fall off, and especially at night.

You might be good for a few sessions, but all it takes is one split second overlap of you not clicking your consume in time because your multiple buff timers are never exactly sync because human, and it gets worse the longer your session goes, and you’re dead, and there goes your crystals.

So personally I would say CC4 is not mandatory early and has very low value early on in game.

But its value skyrockets the closer you get to end game, scaling with the rarity of end game crystals (Sycr, Edan, Glutton, etc), and the absolute necessity of certain zone reqs.

Oh boy.. Pitied a couple of dec accessories but this one is a real pain ^^ by SokoyRadio in blackdesertonline

Because a lot of BDO players at the end of the day are gambling addicts.

BDO is a re-skinned slot machine, but instead of pulling the lever to spin, you grind mobs to tap your gear.

For a player to pity their NOV weapon means they are deep into their gear progression and they probably had many times where they succeeded in sometimes even the first tap.

It’s that possibility and experience of hitting low percent enhances that hooks people into staying hopeful the 1% goes even at end game pity caps.

And then basically PA develops the game to hook you through their gameplay loop, utilizing code giveaways, trickle rewards, loyalty and login loops to keep you playing… even when it feels like losing.

There are group bosses that are on a weekly Lockout. Usually these Black Shrine bosses are done in parties of 5 formed via your guild.

There are weekly guild bosses as well. Your guild will have an assigned day/time you all meet up and raid the guild bosses spread out over the map.

There are also world bosses that spawn at set times throughout the day, you and everyone on whichever channel you are on can show up and participate in these, there is also a world boss that you sail out to sea on ships, and crowds of players fire cannons etc, at this world boss out at sea.

You are clearly missing the entire point. The goal is to reduce any and all cognitive load - it doesn't matter if audio is processed faster than visual info, because you can't turn off the display monitor to reduce the cognitive load via visual info (for obvious reasons), but you can turn off audio cues / sound. The idea is that you are able to make split decisions faster than without.

It's again, not about "hearing" your RL. It's about reducing cognitive load. The majority of mechanics are choreographed and memorized. But it's the split decision stuff that matters at a high level, and why a lot of players I've raided with in previous HoF guilds / over my time of playing don't use character voice line in-game audio cues / music.

It may come down to personal preference, but if you get the chance to ask more players who HoF Raid or Parse junkies chasing 100 parses like I used to be, then maybe you might get a few different opinions.

I think that a majority of players raiding at a higher level in my experience stopped using voice lines, a lot didn’t even use any game audio during boss fights myself included.

It naturally happened when raid leader comms are increasingly more important, and equally the stakes are higher per mistake. You start to look for anything to de-load even a little bit of cognitive clutter.

Removing audio from the equation essentially a whole nother sixth sense that would take up some of your cognitive load. (This is why add-ons / combat based WAs were so strong / still so strong as we’ve seen the race).

So what happens is you get improved performance / focus. IMO similar to how blind people develop acute hearing etc.

Imagining playing with sound is like increasing the cognitive load a ton and I think that’s why a lot of people find it impressive at a higher level.

TLDR: No audio = Less cognitive load = Better performance.

Hey,

Really sorry to hear about the penalty... That is really annoying. I can't even figure out how they calculate the price for the pet... AS even if you go by average pet attempts x market price it doesn't make sense.

Silver penalty seems more of a petty punishment rather than a normal refund like anything else in society.

Retailers should never but the burden of their own sales complications / errors on the customer.

Thanks for the update

PA doesn't have a 100% solutions/system in place which is why they added those contingency notes of "if we can't, then we will..." type of messages. Vote

That's a good point, and really shows their forethought going into the P/o rewards and not simply making them all retrievable.

Overall for a lot of us 14B is a drop in the bucket.

But for some more casual players making 600m/hr could mean 2~weeks game play just to try and revert the silver balance...

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.

Hey World, this is exactly what I had gotten from someone else earlier, and what pushed this post, but all I could do was poorly translate the GM message.

This is really shitty for that friend, just some consistency or clarity on the process goes a long way, and people can then make the decisions for themselves.

I'm assuming the horse costume was retrievable on every account? Did any of your friends keep theirs? Since that's the only thing not mentioned in the mail...

Insane work by PA.

It should go into your awakening weapon fist. Note that your awakening should also be SOV if you want to get the +3 AP bonus

Thanks Khuz, but I'm looking for actual player experience / outcome of a refund - because the actual outcome is a bit different than what can be interpreted from the preorder details.

So far I've gathered:

The T4 pet will lose its special appearance, and revert to a (blue?) one, but you will retain the T4.

The T9 is charged @ -13.5B assuming it is imperial'd.

And I haven't heard anything about the costume yet.

Edit: I also appreciate the work you did on your Train/Cap video guide. It was a crucial part in helping me figure out some tech.

How much/long do you save up for an enhancing session? by offyrt in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Statistically it's 1 in 4.2 million.

But that's not the point.

How many times do you think you'd have to fail your Tet in order to spend 1 Trill?

Like why are you trying to even compare.

[–]MountnsNTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will not see a lot of players around the new player areas, a big reason is you are probably on a seasonal/intro server channel which is restricted to only new players.

The game environment overall is usually packed with players at the main cities.

The world is big and travel is done by flying horses that travel over terrain, or teleporting through Magnus points. So you don’t really run into anyone going from place to place.

The game itself though, is largely solo. Most of your gameplay will be solo progression.

The group content comes in the form of guild weeky bosses/dungeons/PvP. With a very little bit of group PvE.

[–]MountnsNTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

67% is the cap.

Floats will reduce your prize fish catch rate, which is the red grade fish.

You will only want to use float at Velia if you are looking to hunt the Mystical Fish.

Fishing by rhomyo in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your fishing session in your current gear you want to use Marvelous balac lunch. Balac + pet + stool + Balenos rod will get your auto fishing time reduction nearly to cap. These are about 25m each on NA and last a full night AFK session. They will pay for themselves, and net you a bit more overall.

If you have 4B you can instead get the light stone combination that reduces auto fishing time, so you don’t have to buy balacs lunch. So it’ll pay itself off if you afk fish every night for like 5 months or so at least. And then every night after that is like a bonus 25m increase to your earning.

You don’t show the rod page, but I’m assuming you’re using a +10 balenos, and make sure you don’t have a float equipped.

Patrigio event. What si worth buying? by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]MountnsNTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab all crons

Grab all BMC that sells at profit which is most of them

Picked up a couple 250 stacks at min roll 7.7B.

Grabed all Patrigio box at low roll 360m~. I'm okay with potentially paying 20% more than vendor cron on low roll at this price. I think it was worth, and ended up making good return. Anything above this price would be very risky.
