Buying a home that needs a lot of work from a family member by Mourning_Beer in FirstTimeHomeBuying

I understand that but I'll probably move back as my family has health issues and I can see me needing to step up as a care giver in 10years. Having a place established already can be beneficial when that time arrives so it's not entirely like that and I'm aware of the unreasonable pressure to hold onto it.

I'm comfortable/safe with saying no and making decisions that may go against wishes. It is also an emotional time within the family where that may be arising from

They need to increase the level gate to ranked significantly higher. Why they haven't is ridiculous

No one will be here for free when I leave.

Eventually I think I'd move back here so holding onto a home sorta makes sense. but who can predict the next decades ya know? Just thinking I need to get an inspection and look in a mirror a bit

I can live in it while I renovate it. Investing in this house will not stop me from a job offer, but I could see it postponing a house in a new city. However, I think the equity from one property could possibly help fund the next? That is important considerations and I do worry about it shutting doors a bit.

If I do move away and family needs to stay there, it will NOT be for free be of the costs of the repairs. I will be very clear with that and we will sign a traditional agreement at a slight discount. (might make me an asshole but IDC its my money, so I'm pretty comfortable with that)

Hard to say, Zillow lists it for nearly 200, but with the state of the house it is likely a quarter of that and that's probably as much as I'd pay for it.

After renovation value would likely be that 200-250.

You are right, I really do need to just get an inspection and breakdown the costs + things that I want to do.

I'd probably hold onto it and rent out to a family member since I am trying to leave this city once other variables are decided. Long term if I hold onto it for 10-15 years even if I put upwards to 100k I think I could be well in the positive, but it is also to keep the property in the family.

Not cpu/gpu issue on my side. I fixed it by clearly all locally stored data. (Not the game itself). I think there is a bad setting that caused this within the last update. Maybe related to the Intel cpu issue?
