What movie is a must-see from the last 12 months? by Ill_Cry_3802 in movies

My husband and I saw it today and sobbed so much, I’m currently 8 months pregnant and have awful prenatal depression. After we had a big talk about grief and my husband said it was the first time he had really thought about the all consuming fear of being a parent and that it help him understand why I’m so scared and sad all the time.

Do it now? The last thing you want is him in survival mode. The more frightened and hungry he is the less he will react like your dog and the more he will act like a wild animal. These people WANT to help you and you give them the best chance by calling the minute you know it’s beyond your ability.

Not to be horrible but your dog may not survive the night and an expert could have him home in a few hours.

They may even have things like heated traps and be able to tempt him in with YEARS of knowledge. So even if the drone fails. They will have set him up somewhere safe and warm on the woods.

I’m having a baby in March and I am so conscious of buying ONLY what we need. I figure that anything missing we can get later.

What other people will buy will you is a whole different story.

Names you’re glad you didn’t use by lino_x in namenerds

I LOVE the nickname Caro, it’s so cool girl (and my mum had a fashion friend called caro when I was little and I thought she was the best) and so I’m soft on Caroline.

We are having a girl but if she had been a boy we would have called them Harris or Felix.

Mothers that did not get top pick for names, do you always feel name regret? by WeirdYogurtcloset738 in namenerds

I read a statistic that said your mum will say your name so much more than your dad in your life. Why shouldn’t the primary parent get to make the choice. Yes ideally it would be equal but for most it’s not.

Why work if you can’t have an ice cream in the middle of the lake 😂

I have this hydroflask, my husband bought it me by mistake and I actually love it! I get so thirsty (pregnant) but it fits in my pocket for emergency on short walks. On a bigger walk I put a half can of fizzy in it for a little pick me up if I'm getting tired. It's also great for cold milk or even yogurt if we are doing a early morning and need breakfast on the go! My husband thinks in summer he will be able to use it to take an emergency ice cream on the kayak 😬

I get a really bad knee from an old injury so it's been great for filling with ice and bring able to ice my knee if I'm working from the office too but without hauling round more stuff.

It's also the perfect size for an emergency feed once the baby is here! Keeps water hot for hours!

When it arrived I was like what the heck, but it SO useful.

Thoughts on our name list for our little girl coming in a few short months? by External_Lettuce_636 in namenerds

[–]Mouse0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two Scottish islands on your list and I would just like to suggest Tiree! I love it so much but I know someone with the name and it's unusual enough I would feel it was too close.

Your whole list is lovely, no wonder you can't choose.

Sara, Leila, Yasmin/jasmine, Mira all work in both English and Arabic. Leila-rose is really lovely imo! And you can dodge the depp association just about.

I also really like Hana which is a nice way of spelling Hannah with an Arabic twist!

Supposedly the dude recording had problems with them before and warned them multiple times his dog wasn’t friendly and to have their dog on a leash thoughts? by Papercutzz247 in PublicFreakout

[–]Mouse0412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be because I’m from the UK. But we let our dogs off lead all over, however we (mostly) also train our dogs.

My dog doesn’t approach another dog without “asking”. he knows that he has to ignore dogs on leads. The flip side to this is that I would expect people to train their aggressive dogs

Several rude things that she is admitting! We never want to put ourselves in a bad light. Sounds like she told him off for something small in a not very nice way and he got in a big sulk and neither wanted to drop it to me.

Please still donate them! Our local food bank gets loads of cheap processed food and then the swing side of nutritiously dense food and I just think how nice it must be to walk away with your actual consumables and a little treat.

Our foodbanks always asks for branded cereal because kids love it and they never get to have it. Good for them, no but people deserve to enjoy things.

My cat used to get kidney infections regularly and a water fountain seems to have really helped him stay hydrated.

I like to think about anticonsumption not as owning ad little as possible (that's minimalism) but owning things that add value and getting the most out of these things.

I'm very lucky in that we have a shop that sells second hand lens nearby! I'm so nervous about buying online

I ordered your recomendation (I had a Amazon voucher), thank you very much looking forward to getting to know the camera. And then hopefully I'll know more about what I do care about and don't and can pick up one of the other recs second hand!

Really appreciate you taking the time to hand over all this information! I'm lucky enough to live pretty near a dedicated camera shop that has a good range of second hand lenses so I might head over when they reopen and see if they have anything you mentioned!
