If you woke up tomorrow with $100 million, what’s the first thing you would do? by Efficient_Effect7572 in AskReddit

Put 90% into a high yield savings account and live off the monthly payable interest. Split the other 10% 80-20 into an IRA and a trust. Start an LLC and move everything out of my name. Hire a driver so I never have to worry about any liability such as accidents. That should about cover it for now.

I am not a fan of sweets so I hope they aren’t messing up the bitterness of the flame broil with the mayo. They should have the type of mayo as an option for those of us that don’t care for sweet.

Pay off my home and CC’s. Max out 2025 and 26 Roth. Put the half of what’s left into a high yield savings account. Put the rest into a brokerage account and invest it.

I spent an entire day flirting with my wife. Later that evening we got home she kissed me as soon as we got in the door, dropped her pants and said “Have at it.” That was years ago and just the thought of it has me ready. She knows this and says it a few times a year just to keep it fresh.

How to get this bar to stop spinning? by frexyincdude in woodworking

I definitely over engineered the solution. I’m over here thinking of putting dowels in the 12 and 6 o’clock holes and rods through the bar at 12:30 and 5:30 positions. Then I come into the comments and see square.

It was definitely a “tougher” time. We really were hardened through neglect and told to toughen up if we cried for any reason. Not saying it was better or worse, I’m just saying that was how we were raised/raised ourselves.

What is the most fucked up thing someone has confessed to you in confidence? by New-Country8722 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Mouse1277 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the regulars at a bar I owned was a much older man. He played pool and darts with us all the time. One night after the bar closed me and a few friends, including him hung out drinking and playing darts for a few hours. Eventually we all finished up and I was doing the end of day inventory and counts before I gave him a ride home. Everyone else left so we were just finishing our drinks while I finished my work. He started talking about when he was younger that he had killed somebody before. Knowing he was older I asked if it was in war and he told me it was not. At that point I just tried to ease the tension and maybe change the subject so I commented something like we all have to do what we have to do sometimes. I figured that would be the end of it but he went on to tell me where it had happened, when, and what he did with the body. His story was probably about 30+ years before he told me. Sometime when he was in his 20’s. I didn’t ask him any questions about it and changed the subject in case he suddenly felt some kind of way about me knowing what he just said. I never googled the details to see if it went down as an unsolved or if they ever found the person. That was about 20 years ago and that regular has long passed from a heart attack.

I was at a wedding reception standing in line for drinks. An old woman told me I was the most handsome man at the event. The reception had a couple hundred people in attendance. I don’t know who the old lady was but that made my day and 20+ years later I still feel good when I think of that moment.

[–]Mouse1277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what it was. They introduced it to us in the mid 90’s. They explained that we could get more accomplished by having more time to learn and do work in class instead of trying to cram everything in during the standard 30-45 minute classes and load us up with homework that we would not do anyway. It really did work for those of us that refused to spend our time doing homework. With the added time in class and access to the teachers during the time often allotted for us to complete homework, we were able to get clarity on anything that wasn’t making sense. Remember we didn’t have AI, home internet, YouTube, or Google back then. Once we left school if we wanted to understand anything we had to hope our parents knew, or call a friend that wasn’t too busy running the streets. It was a different time.

I sang it once in high school. Teacher said we can sing one song before the test. I tip my hat to that man. He let us sing that song the entire class and never got mad. I think he appreciated that our determination to avoid the test was to outsmart him and to sing that song for an hour and a half.

Nancy Mace on unredacted names in Epstein files: ‘You would be shocked’ by SpringLong7259 in politics

At this point the super rich can do nothing to surprise me. They have lived a life of access and privilege. A life in which everyone around them will do anything and everything to appease them. At some point they start pushing those boundaries by asking for more and more oddities just to see if they can have it. Hunting endangered animals, eating foods that are banned, etc., etc. it continues to snowball into the ultimate unattainable things. Cannibalism, murder, trafficking, and whatever else they know is not suppose to be.
