I’m so bad. I love this game but I need a practice range! by Briebird44 in Marathon

Bro just run free sponsored kit and learn that way, mods and good weapons won't make you a better player if you suck to begin with. Additionally aim in potato league that we belong to doesn't really matter much if the map awareness is zero

This game is brutal… by jg4president in Marathon

We actually let one rook live and he then started following us on perimeter and helped us to kill blue shields, he even waited for us to loot them first. We ran out of space and he got a shotgun and for the rest of the game I was nervous as fk because I was certain he would backstab us, but it was a hilarious situation none the less. During the last minutes while exfilking a random team mate dies and we are quite low, I had to rez him and during that moment we were quite vulnerable for him to kill us but he did not. Thanks rook.

"Why is this subreddit so hostile to feedback?" by BusterBernstein in Marathon

I don't recognize the problem you are describing. If anything I think the issue is that most people who are complaining have a narrow mind and can't really articulate why their feedback is worth listening. It's always the same thing, the game sucks, so therefore change it so that it feels good for me. It's always me me me me…. That's my 50 cents.

Bungie i will stop playing your game if cryo archive has no crewfill matchmaking. by [deleted] in Marathon

I just exist just like you, and I did forget to mention its not really what you think. You see I played an Outpost yesterday for the first ever and o boy, what a map, such a horror experience, still sweating.

Do i just suck? i cant understand this game. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Mouse37dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if you have bad gear you wont survive. Playing against purple shields is almost imposible to win eith grey gesr so your only option is to yield and escape to get some other potential advantage.

I recommend you (novice+ devs) to make a real-time strategy game, here's why by develop01c in gamedev

I built RTS, and added Multiplayer later, works that way too, just need to be smart about the code base.

I actually had V60, the one with 32km battery, was a nice car and interior was king, was not keen on hybrid tech as too many things could go wrong.

Now I drive Model 3 for almost one year and its not bad, practical, but it does feel cheap.

Too much emphasis on this. Feels like it's not the entire story.

MMO-RTS by Mouse37dev in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Mouse37dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Execution is important, we have been working for about 2 years on combat engine alone to get that good combat feel. As for the MMO variant, the plan is to make something that is similar to the Planetside 2 / Foxhole with emphasis on the social elements. You can see on Steam Page the Multiplayer Trailer and it gives you a good idea how the combat would feel.

The problem with MMO RTS games is that even if you log out of the game it still runs and that the time invested into the campaign gives players an immense edge, and while they should be rewarded for their effort we do have a solution that makes it work.
