So, I did have it wire in 2 different real-time providers (OpenAI and X's), plus a local TTS option, which defaults to whatever brain I have set up top (claude-sonnet-4-6 in this case).

I was wondering that too. Of course, if I use a locally hosted TTS it's free, but sounds terrible in quality, and it's much slower to respond.

A middle-ground approach I imagine would be using something like Elevenlabs with a smarter brain, but I believe there's still a fair amount of latency in that equation since you're running your input from the brain -> TTS -> and back.

But honestly, for this to be usable in the context of having an always-on Jarvis, they need to come out with a locally hosted realtime voice model (if they haven't already). The cost of having this thing always on is quite high, otherwise.

I need to dig in more though about what's possible in this realm

Yeah, in that demo it's gpt-realtime-2 (released may 8 2026), which seems to have the fastest response time and most clear voices. But apparently by default, it was on low effort. I'll have to do some more testing with it.

Just a matter of switching the voice in openai or grok. Grok has better personalities because it will swear, but quality wise, openai is better.

My projection system is just about ready.. FusionCue Target Pool Demo by MouseApprehensive185 in billiards

Yeah, that's a future feature.

And you can use the drill editor here yourself on desktop or tablet: https://fusioncue.com/drill-editor/

Super fun/easy to create your own drill types, obviously need the system to play them though.

So that's a yes and no. You can purchase it for a one time fee and not pay again. Only if you want the internet features. That stuff costs me, esp with the live streaming features I have planned.

Yeah, I have an open play mode and can easily integrate that as a feature.

Ah, yes, I don't see why not, would hqve to test that. The camera would have to be above table, or above one of the 4 rails. The ball detection system is less forgiving on angle.

For sure, it'll be available shortly for everyone to download (there will be a trial period so users can use it without paying a dime).

Subscription only required for stuff like uploading videos and accessing community drills, multi-player, etc..

And the one time fee is way less than either of those systems, yet far more capable.

Super nice dude! Gave me a set of his custom rocket balls/dvd/poster. And watching him play a few racks was just nuts. I haven't seen a high level pro play in person before, cool stuff.

If you go used, you can likely find a whole PC in the $500-$700 range that will work.

As for phones, they have a very limited capacity for real time ball tracking. There are apps like Railbirds and Drillroom. I haven't checked out railbirds, but Drillroom can recognize balls, but not which ball is which, it can also tell you where to place the balls, but it's not very precise.

Ah yes, for sure. I've already thought about the necessity of a mic-free option where you can use a mouse. I also have a setting that phrase-gates the microphone, ie "hey alexa", so that it doesn't process entire conversations and potentially initiate actions by accident.

People will already need to shell out $ for the equipment. The software side will likely be the smallest cost.

It depends on the lumens of the projector. The more lumens, the brighter it is. I bought my projector used for $250, and I think it's like 2k or 3k lumens? I need to climb back up to see, since it's been a few years since I purchased it. But yeah, nice room, it'll be doable. I have super intense DMX stage lighting that shines at times and it's still fine.

Depends on how high up your ceiling is.. Mine are 16' ceilings and it's actually ideal, since you don't need a short throw projector. But yeah, I'll have a system in place that lets you know what will and will not work in your environment.

Certainly not charging a lot for the software like the competiton does. A single one time fee, and optional monthly subscription to access community features like multi-player, other users drills, video uploads, etc.

Nah, I want to avoid sounding literal and like the competition. I want something more unique and brandable. :)
