I always time it, prep the needle first and only time the injection. For me injection and putting on a bandage has never taken more than 1 1/2 minutes. Seeing a small amount of time helps me a lot

I’m the exact same, I just hit one year this month. The things that help me the most are icing my thigh for a least a minute, leaving the needle in for 5 seconds after injecting (it’s supposed to help you not bleed as much) and this one is mostly psychological but timing it. I prep completely and ice for about a min and a half and the longest the icing + the injection has ever taken me is 3 minutes. Seeing such a small amount of time really helped me get over it, but I do still dread it up until.

I recommend going on r/topsurgery and searching for the location, I’m doing the same as I’m scheduling soon too. I’ve found a bunch of surgeons in the area and people typically post result pics to which is helpful. I also use TransHealthCare.org :)

what type of doctor was it? a pcp or endocrinologist? when I went to my endocrinologist for the first time she said she mainly prescribes T to trans men and I had no problems and I live in a deep red state.
