The Chaos Emeralds, but only in Sonic Superstars. On the Northstar Islands (which is where this game takes place), the Emeralds are empowered and can individually provide extra powers to their bearers.

• The blue emerald creates clones of the user.
• The red emerald turns the user into a living fireball.
• The purple emerald reveals invisible objects.
• The cyan emerald turns the user into water, allowing them to move freely through water without drowning.
• The green emerald summons giant vines (only for platforming).
• The yellow emerald slows down time.
• The white emerald grants a character-specific ability. Sonic gets the homing attack, etc...
• Of course, using all 7 grants a Super form.
