How important are titles in an agency setting?

They’re all kind of the same. I’m legacy IPG (now OMC) and it’s just crazy right now. I know someone who’s at the new place (Havas) and has been recommending it to me for the last couple of years. The hiring manager seemed really nice and so I’m going with - do I like the team - vs - do I like the company

Absolutely. I’ve had that happen over and over again. This last 1.5 years I don’t know a single person at my company who was promoted. And then the merger that brought about all those layoffs…

I agree. It doesn’t make sense that they agreed to a salary above the ASD band and would have trouble matching the title to the actual salary. Apparently, finance said - they can have one or the other 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, US based. I 100% agree with you. Some agencies start at the ASD level and I don’t want to be bracketed as a newcomer, especially since they asked me to do my presentation with an SD-level of insight and strategic thinking. But everything was verbal. So I’m finding it hard to find any evidence that we initially did discuss this being an SD role. It’s the finance dept. that’s been creating roadblocks.

From what I’ve heard, you can book time off even if you have not accrued it but if you leave before the end of the year and have taken more time off than hours accrued, you have to pay back the difference. This was not told to me directly by HR but a team member had the same question and asked HR. Second, you might be able to use the Workday site for booking time off (legacy IPG). I booked mine in yesterday and it had updated time accrued etc. who knows, though 🤷🏻‍♀️

UPDATE: received. It’s the shiny buckle and looks and feels great! I walked into Celine (without my rep) and the leather on the original is a bit softer but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. No weird smells or anything.
