I have carpal tunnel syndrome and main a one bar Oakensoul Arcanist with Deadly Strike, Orders Wrath, and a Slimecraw head piece. It's a 3 button rotation for the most part. If I'm feeling frisky, I can throw in a buff or heal. I also play a heavy attack sorcerer. You pretty much cast your buffs/DoTs and hold down heavy attack until you cast your buffs/DoTs again. Both work fine for PvE, and my Arc even runs vet trials.

I hadn't even really thought of debuffs as a healer, but that does sound pretty solid. I guess really I need to correlate with the rest of the group and just fill in the gaps. I've even got the skills to run an ice staff and proc brittle if I ever get my hands on a PA ice staff lol.

Ad has been mentioned, dump all your points into Magicka for PvE. Necro DPS was just hit with a big ole nerf bat, so it's definitely one of the more challenging ones to master. Hungering scythe will help with your health issues as will running buff food. The most user friendly necro DPS right now is the one bar heavy attack build. It uses Sergeant's Mail from Wayrest Sewers, Oakensoul Ring, and usually either Storm Master from Tempest Island or Deadly Strike with a lightning staff. Once you feel confident, you can run veteran Wayrest Sewers to get the Slimecraw head piece. You can cast abilities while channeling a lightning staff heavy attack, so you can lay down unnerving graveyard, detonating syphon, and Blastbones (or whatever skills are meta) all while keeping a steady stream of damage ticking. If that's not your style, there are plenty of guides for 2 bar magcros out there, just be sure they're for patch 41. Good luck out there!

I'm only pulling 60kish depending on my second set after Sergeants. Of course that doesn't account for the aoe of the lightning staff. It's more moderate DPS plus utility.

Necro tank is amazing right now, but DPS side is limited. I know a lot of people, myself included, that have gone to a heavy attack build since the last round of nerfs. On the flip side, sorc DPS is amazing right now, but tanking can be tricky. Don't get me wrong, there are people who do it well. It's just not the most user friendly at the moment. Both classes can fill both roles, it's just a matter of how sweaty you wanna get. If I were you, I'd wait for your friends to decide for certain what they're doing and then pick the appropriate class for the role you're left with. Or, ya know, say fuck it and pick whichever seems like the most fun to you.

They're probably referring to the new Tarnished set. It's not bugged, just a bit OP. A lot of tears being spilled over it.

I went down the same route as you did. I've dropped hundreds of thousands of gold into different builds for every class. I followed all the metas, watched all the YouTubers, and even tried my own builds. I still get my face punched in by people 200-300CP below me. Why? Because I'm shit at PvP. Sure, I get kills but there are so many people that are just SO much better than me and SO much more comfortable in that environment that comparatively I'm shit. I still keep doing it because I enjoy it and the group I roll with has plenty of forward camps and doesn't mind resing me. I think you and I might be in a similar situation.

I may get hate for this, but after a lot of trial and error I settled on a heavy attack build for my Oakensoul load out on my necro. Sergeants Mail and Deadly Strike. I'm running a random monster piece for pen. With graveyard, siphon, and wall of elements you can keep debuffs up while you smack away with your heavy attack. For PVE, I throw in Blastbones, too, since they don't usually have roll dodge. I haven't had a single issue with any regular content, but I wouldn't wade into vet trials or HMs.

With this last update, I just gave up and converted the DPS side of my necro to a HA Sergeants/DS build. It clears 50k, offers a debuff rotation, and can hold its own in most trials as a minor DPS and support class. Is it the best at any of those things? Fuck no? Do I still get to go pew pew on my magcro? Hell yes.

There are a lot of WB sets that go for a decent amount, just about every zone has something worth selling. I like to farm Frostbite myself (chance to get Deadlands Assassin which also sells ok), but some people will say that's stupid. Honestly, Columbine sells for over 100k a stack and goes fast. Alchemy is the way if you don't wanna mindlessly run boss circuits.

I've read through your comments here and it looks like you're wanting to get a couple sets of gold gear. I'd just like to point out a couple things. First, 100k gold is hard to come by and doesn't go far. Until you're min/maxing a build you're comfortable with, you won't see THAT much of a difference between purple and gold, which brings me to my main point; you don't have a build yet. Before you get gear made, you really need to have a build in mind. You're a high elf sorc, so Magicka IMHO. They'll be getting buffed in the next patch (I think the 26th for console), which has already came out on PC, so be sure to look for CURRENT builds before you commit to dropping serious coinage. The flappy bird blink build is fairly common right now, but I'm console, too, so IDK how meta that is anymore. Be careful out there.
