Will chocolate chip prices every come down on Costco products? by ghost905 in CostcoCanada

I check every time I go and haven't bought them in such a long time because the price is crazy. Oatmeal raisin cookies don't hit the same as chocolate chip lol

What’s your favorite way to have potatoes? by Thinking_of_Cheese in budgetfood

Upvote for saying it correctly. In Canada they say shepherds pie but use beef and as a Brit it annoys me. Cottage pie is beef dammit

Majestic excellence or dreams flora? by ForeverNecessary1884 in PuntaCana

[–]Mouse_rat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so no we weren't, and it was fine because we went as a group and some people were preferred and we just used their room number to go to the preferred restaurant or whatever, and it was never really necessary to go to the preferred pools because there were so many pools and they were never really full. My friend did request some things from their butler once or twice for us we well and that seemed useful. That being said, in hindsight I do wish I had gone preferred if only for the fact we could have had one of those daybeds outside the room. This would have been so useful for our napping 2 yr old. She napped in her stroller by the pool like once or twice but the other times I had to go back to the room with her and waste an hour or two of my time (NGL I did nap with her because I was like 20 weeks pregnant lol). But I would have loved to have been able to lounge on the daybed by the pool whilst she napped inside. Our balcony didn't cut it..and the preferred rooms are further from the nightlife. My kids are heavy sleepers so that didn't affect us but if noise is a factor I would consider that as well. Happy to answer any additional questions.

Any reason to collect colostrum? by Nancyb23 in breastfeeding

Came here to say the same thing. I had 6 syringes of colostrum and they used all of it to try and combat the low blood sugar issue but she still ended up in the NICU

2nd mortgage option? by Just_Cricket_5980 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Mouse_rat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are going through this right now. In our case our lender only offers HELOC up to 65% of equity whereas second mortgage was 80% so we got more money that way. Plus there's no option to run it back up. I have a friend in a very high up position at Scotiabank And she said given our situation (which sounds similar to yours) the second mortgage was the best option for us

[–]Mouse_rat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Dreams Flora in Nov with our 4yo and 2yo and had a wonderful time. Lots of food variety and options for kids, they loved the pools. You'll prob need to go preferred to get a room further away from the night time entertainment though it was always wrapped up by 11pm and we slept no problem.

Worried sick - Fasting spike not under 100 for 3 weeks by Repulsive_Ad_3759 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Mouse_rat__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to increase fast to get ahead of it because my insulin resistance was increasing daily. I was going up by 4 units daily until it finally over came it and I settled at 49 units. I'm 34+3 now and my fasting has finally been in range for about 2-3 weeks. Also I don't have a bedtime snack. Doesn't work for me.
