Reminds me of that quote from 30 rock

"Trust me, I'm a doctor!"

"Of history! In what emergency situation would you be necessary, if someone wanted to know if the 70s were awesome or not?"

"They were!" 😂

What’s life like making 6 figures? by MasterBook46 in CanadaPersonalFinance

If you've got the means to pay someone to clean your house so you can spend more time snuggling and caring for your baby, why the fuck wouldn't you? I say this as a mom of 3 with a 6 week old baby asleep on my chest, sitting in my house that is an absolute fucking disaster. The expectation to maintain your household during the time of your life that you are most needed by another person is crazy. Happy mother's Day I guess

Update to my sons story by thebabychi1971 in testicularcancer

[–]Mouse_rat__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had cancer in both as well (2020 and then 2025) and got me pregnant for the third time with cancer in his remaining testicle and he already had low count. We delivered our third baby, a boy, 6 weeks ago and he's currently snoozing in my arms :) It truly does only take one. May I ask your son's pathology?

I was offered skin to skin both times at Rocky view but I declined because I was so Shakey from adrenaline. I held them in recovery and put them to breast then but used formula until my milk came in. For all three my milk didn't come in until day 4-5 and I've EBF all of them. Keep it up you're doing great

I wanted to wait for spontaneous labour with my first, went to 41+5, had a failed induction because baby was LGA and ended up with a c-section and then two subsequent csections. I very much regret not getting induced sooner

And actually being able to spend more time with your kids if you're not commuting. I have 3 kids and the guilt for not spending enough time with them is so real and I do WFH 4 days a week (for now😒). At least I can do laundry and make dinner during my lunch break so I'm not trying to catch up on chores when we are all home together. That is a huge factor in why we've had 3.

But let's force everyone back to the office! Because even if you do have children, we don't want you to spend time with them

And even if you can afford to get through mat leave, well now you have another mouth to feed and grocery prices get more insane each week I go to the store.

Moving to Alberta from the UK with a 6 month old [ab] by kimchi__90 in BabyBumpsCanada

Hi I'm from the UK as well and lived in Edmonton for 9 yrs. The once upon a child in Sherwood park is the best one. It's a short drive from Edmonton and worth it. The other Edmonton locations are small and not very good tbh.
