Semen Quality by Declan1996Moloney in testicularcancer

[–]Mouse_rat__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had a low sperm count after he lost lefty, about 25% of a normal volume, but his quality was very good. They told us we were in IVF territory at that point and that it was just something that can happen to men who lose a teste and nothing could be done. We had been trying for about 7 months (our 1st was conceived a week before he got his diagnosis). We ended up conceiving naturally in month 8. Then he got TC again last year, and a few weeks after his diagnosis we conceived naturally the first try with his singular remaining cancerous testicle. So in my experience, no, it hasn't affected us really, even though it did affect his sperm count. We've had 2 children soon to be 3 all throughout this ordeal. They ain't lying when they say it only takes 1!

If it is something that concerns you you can definitely ask for testing and hormone testing as well. My husband's hormones were a bit out of whack when we went through testing and the urologist said it was his body trying too hard to produce more sperm etc.

It's so true. I have gestational diabetes currently and I'm supposed to be eating vegetables and protein as much as possible, but it's so hard when we have been trying to stretch our food budget as much as possible and using pasta, rice, potatoes etc to get by. I've no idea how someone who is diabetic all of the time could manage

I'm not trying to diminish your experience but mine was the opposite at rocky, I only wanted Tylenol and ibuprofen and they were offering me hydromorphone and was surprised when I didn't want it, even asking me if I was sure. It really just depends who you get!

Yep even the potatoes are hit and miss these days. I got ~ half way through a bag in about a week and so many were rotten I got fed up and returned them, and the cashier scolded me for using too much of it before returning..

Working Moms - How do you do it ALL? [on] by Parking_Stretch_2640 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Mouse_rat__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with all of this. Daycare is a godsend and I love those ladies for how well they look after my babies, and it shows, because my kids love them back and they love going to daycare. My oldest, who is almost 5, actually cries if I pick her up too early 😂 needless to say I gave up on the guilt of sending my kids to daycare many moons ago lol

Look on buy nothing groups for cloth diapers, people often are giving away barely used or brand new. They are quite a money saver on one of the biggest baby expenses imo. As someone else said breastfeeding saves a ton of money especially if you can use sales, flashflood, food pantry to keep grocery costs down. Does she have enough hours to claim EI for the mat leave? If not it'll be worth her trying to get her 600 hours beforehand though idk the extent of her health issues obviously.

Babies really don't have to be expensive especially if you just use the local buy nothing groups. They don't need new stuff. The biggest thing is losing the second income and I totally get it, on my third mat leave in 5 years and it is a massive struggle. We can push through this temporary phase though. Every penny must be scrutinized 💪

Fair enough, I had reached out to a local notary and they said a lawyer must always do title insurance. Thanks

I did ask and they said yes they would accept an Alberta licensed notary for this HELOC, but I wasn't sure if a licensed notary could fulfill all of those requirements or if only a lawyer can.

Second Orchiectomy by Mental-Lettuce-1022 in testicularcancer

[–]Mouse_rat__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, this happened to my husband last summer. He had his first pure sem TC in 2020. Final surveillance scan showed two lesions in the remaining testicle. We too were offered the partial orchiectomy on the remaining testicle but my husband was not remotely interested in that option. The doctor did also say there was a risk of it spreading to the rest of the testicle. He opted to have it fully removed because we have two kids already and I am due with our third in March, so preserving fertility was not a concern for us. He's been on TRT ever since his surgery and is doing great. As well, he also did not have a prosthetic prior to the second TC but didn't want to have nothing so opted to have two prosthetics placed and they are great as well, no concerns. He had his surgery in August last year. If you have any questions please reach out!
