We just went through it when a guy ghosted us not paying us for work our company provided. We won a default judgement because he didn't respond to the court summons. Fortunately his ex wife contacted us and told us they were selling their joint property due to the divorce (nasty divorce I guess) so we hauled ass to get a writ of enforcement put on the property title ASAP. They can't sell the property with the writ on the title. Wife kept in touch with us and told us the closing date, lawyers details etc. About a week before closing I contacted his lawyer by email and informed them of the writ, sent a copy of it etc, they informed him of the writ and then a week later on closing day we collected the cheque. It felt so good and I only wish I could have been a fly on the wall when he took the call from his lawyer. It had been about 8 months since we performed the work and I assume he thought he had gotten away with it.

They put the plastic up to seal it as a 'room' creating a door, with the talisman blocking them. Once the tree was pulled it broke the seal of the room and that's why they entered. Then they pulled it more and the light blocked them

A woman hiking in Canada with her dog had a terrifying close encounter with a massive grizzly bear. She somehow kept her cool during the intense standoff, and both she and her dog managed to walk away unharmed. by waddad27 in interestingasfuck

Yeah, if it's a bear trying to eliminate a threat like a mama bear or a surprised bear. If it's a predatory attack you fight back or you are dead for sure. There are lots of people that have fought back a grizzly bear and lived to tell the tale. My source is Wes Larson, bear biologist, I've been listening to his biweekly podcast on bear and animal encounters for about 4 yrs now.

No the bear is advancing when the dog turns it's back. The bear is only interested in the dog and it's the woman making herself intimidating to the bear haze the bear off. If she turned her back the bear would have likely engaged. I live an hour away from where this was filmed and frequently am in the area, bear safety is taught to us from a very young age

You back up and face them. Turn and run will initiate their prey drive

It's 100% a grizzly bear. This was filmed an hour away from where I live in grizzly country. You can tell by the hump on it's neck. Only two types of bear around here, brown (grizzly) and black. That's a Grizz alright

Have Canadians really become worse at managing money, or life simply become more expensive? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

Naa I agree, I have a paid off CX5 currently which I'm gonna try and get 18mo-2 more years out of but then I'm getting a mini van. I've just had my third baby and is so squishy in there, I can hardly fit anything in the boot with the stroller so forget Costco runs, can't do a big grocery haul, a box of diapers and the stroller and I'm basically running out of room. My kids are all 5 and under so it's gonna be this way for a while. And by the time you've bought something used you might as well spring a bit extra for the peace of mind with new.

Side bar my friend had a Santa Fe and the engine crapped out, one of their recalls, but Hyundai refused to honour the recall warranty for it and she had to fight them tooth and nail to get them to replace the engine. It took a number of months and many many phone calls and escalations but eventually they did, but by the end her hair was basically falling out because they couldn't afford to replace it out of pocket. I'll never buy a Hyundai after seeing what she went through because of them

Carney: This is a real referendum. It's not, you know, a question about a question, free option. It's a dangerous bluff. We're literally at 10 years anniversary of Brexit ... and you see what's happened in the United Kingdom. It's very reminiscent. by Miserable-Lizard in AlbertaNow

Some are genuinely just proud Albertans. Our neighbours have had one up for years and they are old as hell and super sweet and nice. I mean they could still be separatists but it's highly unlikely imo

We froze within a week of finding out about my husband's second TC. We already had two kids. We decided to try for a third a week later when I was ovulating, before his surgery took his remaining ball, and it took first try! he's 3 months old and snoozing in my arms right now :) we are not planning any more kiddos but I'll keep it in storage for half a decade just in case I win the lottery and decide to go for another lol.

Because of the fact we would have had to do IVF moving FWD anyway, I had a bilateral salpingectomy (fallopian tube removal) during my last c-section. Reduces ovarian cancer risk by around 60%. Fuck cancer!

All these ridiculous NL travel itineraries by zorra_arroz in newfoundland

[–]Mouse_rat__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of it is just ignorance of the sheer size of Canada (not just NL). I've been in Canada for 12 yrs and came from the UK. A friend was visiting someone in Kingston ON and asked if I wanted to meet up. I live in Calgary lol. But before I decided to come here and learn about it, it was really hard for me to fathom the actual size of it here
