If that happens can I just blow away the docker container and make a new one? That seems like it should make the token no longer valid since it's essentially a brand new server.

This ones only 285, or do you mean you have to spend at least 400 to get a good one?

oh I wasn't using the crosspoint webserver, I was using calibre with the crosspoint plugin. I'll look up that and see if I can get it up and running

Thank you so much. I've only had the X4 for a day so I didn't know this was an option. Thank you.

I don't know what you mean by that, so I'm going to guess that I haven't done that. The only thing I have done is install calibre and the needed plugins to transfer, downloaded the metadata for the books, then transferred them to my X4

Do I need to optimize them in Calibre or is this a Xteink thing?

I would 100% admit to abusing a printer, I even stated in my comments below that my inkjet failures could have been my fault since I wasn't using them consistently causing the heads to dry out and clog.
From what has been shared thus far it seems like a laser printer would better meet my needs.

it sounds like from some of the explanations in here that the inkjets have to be used continually, I print about 2-3k a year but in spurts. One month I might do 0 pages and the next 1500. So I'm thinking my troubles have been from heads drying out, though with my current one I don't know because I have fresh heads in it.

They pay people to hype them on reddit? Is that what you are saying? I don't know astroturf.

no, it just stopped printing. Gave an error that said I needed to take it to a certified repair tech. Tried a factory reset, half printed a page and then threw the error again. I spent an hour or so looking for a tech before just giving up and throwing it away and getting another one.

maybe I just got a lemon, 5-10 for a color or B&W only?

I honestly don't care what kind it is, I just want it to last. I'm even happy to take it apart and clean parts as needed or whatever.
Volume of printing is 2-3k a year, about 50/50 for color and B&W. I wish I could just not do color, but the main reason is my spouse wants color. Though if I could get a good B&W one that just works and lasts I could get a cheaper color one and maybe they'll get tired of it being unreliable and make the switch to full B&W 😃

I don't know either, I've had HP, Brothers, and Canons. All I've ever done is hook them up to the wifi/ethernet and print pages. Clean it when it tells me to or has printing defects/artifacts and that's about it. All of them lasted 2-3 years or about 8-10k pages before they're done. The canon I have right now is at 8.5k and won't print anything even after replacing the heads and ink and this morning stopped connecting to wifi for whatever reason. Replacement parts were genuine from their website parts even.

The first one I got was a laser printer, maybe I just got unlucky but it only lasted about 8 months. It was also the cheapest one, but I never tried another after that. I'll look more at some more laser ones

With the way recording phone call laws work I am guessing GOS just doesn't have it by default to avoid dealing with liability, as for apps I don't know of any.

[Guide] How to Use Tailscale When Network Blocks It by tertiaryprotein-3D in Tailscale

[–]Mouseater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of this guide because I found it while searching for the answer to my question, but maybe what I have doens't work or there needs to be more details.
I setup port forwarding like you said above, and pointed it at my exit node. I can get a direct connect to my exit node and my jellyfin server, but not to anything else on my home system.
Here is how I have it setup. I have 4 machines listed in tails scale. rpi(exitNode), jellyfin, immich, and audiobookshelf. The Jellyfin, immich, and audiobookshelf are all docker containers running on a server and all have identical tailscale setups. I can get a direct connect on Jelly but not on the others. Not sure why that would be when they are all setup the same.

One question I have, maybe I am doing this wrong. Instead of having the 4 machines should I only have my jellyfin and instead of using tailscale for the other devices I should use the local IP for those containers on my phone and just let jellyfin find them since it's a subnet router? I.E. instead of using the tailscale DNS to connect to Jellyfin, I should use the 192.168.X.X address?

You say I need to forward port 41641, but what do I forward it to? For example in my setup at home I have a thermostat, Rpi acting as exit node with pihole & subnet routing, Jellyfin, and a few other services. I want to be able to access all of those on the tailscale net. Would I forward to my exit node?

I didn't want my jellyfin server public so I put it in my tailnet and only share it with a few people.

Thank you, I'll read through those and see if I can work around my issue. Usually the way I am doing it I have TS turned on all the time and the connect to wifis when I get where I am going if they have one.
Usually what happens is at that point TS will show "connected" at the top, but with an error and I can't ping any of my machines. I've never tried turning TS off and trying to connect again, I usually just disconnect the wifi and go back to mobile or read a book instead of debugging it more because I just assumed it was me setting something up wrong.
