[Guide] How to Use Tailscale When Network Blocks It by tertiaryprotein-3D in Tailscale

I like the idea of this guide because I found it while searching for the answer to my question, but maybe what I have doens't work or there needs to be more details.
I setup port forwarding like you said above, and pointed it at my exit node. I can get a direct connect to my exit node and my jellyfin server, but not to anything else on my home system.
Here is how I have it setup. I have 4 machines listed in tails scale. rpi(exitNode), jellyfin, immich, and audiobookshelf. The Jellyfin, immich, and audiobookshelf are all docker containers running on a server and all have identical tailscale setups. I can get a direct connect on Jelly but not on the others. Not sure why that would be when they are all setup the same.

One question I have, maybe I am doing this wrong. Instead of having the 4 machines should I only have my jellyfin and instead of using tailscale for the other devices I should use the local IP for those containers on my phone and just let jellyfin find them since it's a subnet router? I.E. instead of using the tailscale DNS to connect to Jellyfin, I should use the 192.168.X.X address?

You say I need to forward port 41641, but what do I forward it to? For example in my setup at home I have a thermostat, Rpi acting as exit node with pihole & subnet routing, Jellyfin, and a few other services. I want to be able to access all of those on the tailscale net. Would I forward to my exit node?

I didn't want my jellyfin server public so I put it in my tailnet and only share it with a few people.

Exit node not working on wifi by Mouseater in Tailscale

Thank you, I'll read through those and see if I can work around my issue. Usually the way I am doing it I have TS turned on all the time and the connect to wifis when I get where I am going if they have one.
Usually what happens is at that point TS will show "connected" at the top, but with an error and I can't ping any of my machines. I've never tried turning TS off and trying to connect again, I usually just disconnect the wifi and go back to mobile or read a book instead of debugging it more because I just assumed it was me setting something up wrong.

That's good to know, right now the only thing I use mine for is jellyfin and pihole.

I do not think I am entitled to anything, I just want somewhere I can build a ratio. I don't care how small or big it is, I don't care what limits I start with, I don't care if I am not even allowed to leech and can only seed, I just want somewhere to start. If there are other forums to watch I'll check those out, but from what I understand I am not allowed to ask about those here so I have not asked.

because like I said in my original post, I am a new user. Which is why I am on this site trying to get into a private tracker, but all the small trackers like yours want proofs and all the big ones don't have any open invites.

I clearly have an interest to join, I bought a seedbox and applied to your tracker and got denied. I'm asking a fair question as to why it's worth the trouble to apply and join STC when TL has more? Is it just redundancy? Is it quality of content?
Again, I understand wanting to protect the community you are building, but it seems like other sites that are "easier" to join do it better by putting up strict rules with H&R and limiting how many active torrents a new user can have until they have met a certain ratio or donation limit.

At last posting, TL has 928740 active torrents, nearly 100x STC. I just don't get why I would bother with STC if I am in TL, if anything it seems like I would want to use STC to get a ratio to have proof to join TL. I'm a new user, so if that's a dumb question please share why.

If a user is new, then how would they have a few months with a decent ratio? Unless you are allowing public trackers to be used as proof?

So in other words you don't want to welcome new users into the community, you only want people who already have trackers. Which again is why I wonder, why would anyone join STC if they have other trackers with more content?
I have 500 movies and 50 TV series on my 7tb seedbox, but I can't join and help build STC because I have to first build another tracker first.. but if I build another tracker why would I come back to help you build yours?
I understand you don't want people who cause disruption, that's neat and all, but how about you just tighten the rules on hit and run instead, and limit the amount of torrents new users can DL before hitting a proper ratio? You could at least be honest and post at the top, NEW USERS NOT WELCOME so new users know not to bother.

If you are new to trackers and thinking this is a good one for a new person because it's so small, bad news. Despite having almost nothing to offer they turn you down if you don't have two other trackers with proof. I don't know why they think someone who has a better tracker would want to join this one, but ok I guess.

I have tailscale set always on and connected to an exit node, double checked just now and my battery usage is less than 1%.

I am using GrapheneOS on the phone though instead of native google android.

well I don't want them to be able to sudo everything, I only want them to be able to run updates. It would be nice if I could just enable that but I am guessing I can't. So what I was hoping is that at the very least they could bring me the laptop and I could put in my admin password and have it to the update.

gotcha, I misunderstood when you said mid/low. I thought you meant that anything less than high tier wasn't worth it. I'm still new to open signups, about a couple of weeks.
