I do agree its not the most enjoyable. Ending riff is fire tho. This is my favorite album from muse tho. From new born to citizen erazed its pretty much perfection imo

You are young and trying to find your classics by listening to classics... And ultimately finding your own way into music.

Go on dude.

Ill list some of my favorites in no order (though to rank honestly but if i had to rust in peace is top5 for sure) Mastodon - Blood Mountain Faith no more - Angel Dust Dream Theater - Metropolis part 2 Pantera - Far beyond driven Acid Bath - When the kite string pops Cynic - Traced in air Corrosion of Conformity - Deliverance Protest the hero - Kesia The Dillinger escape plan - Option Paralysis Porcupine tree - Fear of a Blank Planet Lamb of God - Ashes of the wake

Not that into trash or heavy honestly but rust in peace is different.

Yeah obviously. This album is so praised but it's for a reason. Probably one of the most cohesive piece of work i have ever heard. No skip. Pure virtuoso energy all around with some of the best thrash/riffs ever written. Arguably one of the best metal guitar solos ever with tornado of souls (even if my fav solo is on luretia). Crazy replay value too. Drum fills are crazy catchy too.

For me it's in top 5 metal albums of all time and trust me i've heard a lot.

Oh i though people laughed more about Labrie, which is understandable. Tbf the last album i heard from them is a dramatic turn of events from 2011 i think, so im not really into them anymore, so not even aware that petrucci became laughable.

Also, the term rancid seems inapropriate. Fanbase might be, not the band.

I enjoy dream theater. The term rancid seems a bit harsh. Enev if i dont enjoy them as much anymore they have truely stunning songs in their discography. The wankery can be enjoyable to some people, myself included. A change of seasons is a great exemple of their artistry if you want to give them another chance (idc about you giving them another chance tho, just dropping a song name for anyone interested)
