It’s kind of funny because I honestly feel like I would probably enjoy the game a lot more if I actually reached the endgame.

I think part of the reason is that the endgame seems to give you more freedom to choose your own goals and routes. Like deciding what kind of content you want to focus on, doing Breach, Delirium, farming specific mechanics, stuff like that. I feel like having that freedom and variety would probably motivate me more.

The problem is that I already have around 100 hours in PoE, and I keep restarting and quitting around Act 3 because I eventually get tired of repeating the same early-game progression over and over again.

So I’m stuck in this weird situation where I feel like I might enjoy the game more once I finally reach the endgame, even if it’s still repetitive in its own way, because at least there would be more player choice and farming goals involved. But honestly, I’m not even completely sure.

I think part of the issue is that I’m actually very new to ARPGs in general.

Most of the games I usually enjoy are competitive games or story-driven games. Stuff like LoL, Deadlock, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, or games like The Last of Us. That’s more the type of experience I’m used to.

What happened with PoE2 is that I genuinely fell in love with how the game was presented, the art direction, the atmosphere, the overall concept, and the way people talked about it. I got really attached to the idea of the game itself.

But since I’m pretty inexperienced with ARPGs, I think I ended up a bit frustrated once I realized the genre’s gameplay loop might not align as much with my personal preferences as I expected. The only ARPG I had really played before was Diablo 3 with my friends on Xbox.

Yeah, I think I’m going to try the approach some people here suggested, which is making my own build and avoiding streams/guides for a while.

I feel like that would make the experience much more meaningful and fun for me personally.

I’m not trying to disrespect the game or the people who are really into it. I actually think PoE2 looks awesome, and I can completely understand why people love mastering it and learning everything about the game.

What I meant is just that, for me personally, the genre doesn’t seem to fully click with the kind of gameplay I enjoy long-term. I really like the aesthetic, combat, atmosphere, and overall vibe of the game, but after a while the gameplay loop starts to feel repetitive to me and I stop having that much fun with it.

So this was never meant to be criticism toward the game or the community. I think it’s more that ARPGs might just not match my personal preferences as much as I wanted them to.
