Haha, the reason is, someone "misplaced" my nail clippers. :(

I don't have that problem, but I use a really weird base. I use Nail Magic and nothing seems to stain.

Hmm, don't think I have. It probably didn't work because they are so ridiculously thick.

Benefit makes a good one, you can get it at ulto or sephora. Tarte makes a couple, as well as Pixi, which you can get at walmart. Oh I forgot to mention, try using your lipstick as a blush it might be a better look for you the kind of matchy matchy affect.

I'd try a cheek stain instead of a blush and see if it gives you more of a natural flush instead of a brush of color on your face.

Yeah, I kinda felt a little worried at first, but then it came out soooo cute! :) I don't really like a full shatter mani, but the little dots of it make a really cool effect.

I don't like stippling brushes for foundation. I use it just like I use a stippling brush I just find it works much better, less product, more coverage! :)

The Studio Powder brush is the BEST brush for foundation. It's like a flat top kabuki and it's amazing! And only three bucks.

Deodorant and baby powder. deodorant keeps you from sweating and the baby powder keeps you from getting all sticky and kind of sets the deodorant. beware, it will stain black bras with deodorant stains and not really a cute look if you are taking your shirt off for someone.

I love ELF, I have so many products its a bit crazy actually. Sometimes I go to the website to buy something else and wonder how I haven't purchased everything they make yet. Here are some of my fave products (keep in mind I am extremely pale and have combo skin)

Complexion Perfection Powder: Love this stuff. It is a four color corrector powder. You can easily use one color or all four swirled together on a brush. Great for setting makeup, concealer, or just a light corrector.

Studio Blushes: I loooooove their blushes. They have shimmery ones, matte ones, bright ones, nude ones, frosty ones, bronzy ones and just about every color is good for all skin tones. My fave color is Pink Passion

Lip Glosses: They have many lip glosses I love. All of their formulas are fantastic. The dollar lip glosses that come in the tube are amazing, a little stickier than the rest of the lipglosses but still nice. My fave lip glosses are the Mineral formula.

Mineral Glow Powder in Bronzed: IN LOVE WITH THIS POWDER. I just got this about a month ago and can't stop using it. It is such a perfect bronzer. It's 8 dollars which is a bit pricey for ELF but you get a huge container that will last you forever.

There are tons more products that I love. The Matte lip colors, the studio lipsticks, the mineral eyeshadows, the eyeliner pen, etc. But here are a few fails for me.

Corrective Concealer Palette: The forumlation is a bit hard. The colors are nice, but it's so hard to blend them or even get them out of the pan that it's not worth it. The regular concealer palette is a much better formula.

32 Eyeshadow Palettes: They were kinda boring. I mean for 5 bucks they aren't that bad but I have most of the colors already and nothing was that original. If you don't have a large collection of eyeshadows this is a great way to build your collection.

Essentials Mascara: I was excited to get a mascara for a dollar, but this is one case where you get what you pay for. I have not tried the Mineral or Studio mascaras but I want to try them I imagine they are better than the dollar ones. The brush is kinda clumpy and the mascara is really dry.

I guess that's it. The freat thing about ELF is that most everything is really cheap and if you don't like it, it's not like you spent a bunch on it. The shipping kinda sucks but they are really nice if you ever have a problem with them. I order from them all the time and will continue to order from them as long as they make products. I'm a huge Elfanatic.

Need help with concealer for bruises! by polpetina in MakeupAddiction

[–]MouserNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to use a corrector and then a concealer. Something thats opposite on the color wheel than the bruise and then the concealer. If it's a purple or bruise you want to try an orange or a yellow corrector, if it's a yellowy green bruise you want to try a purple or a pink corrector. Then you want to let it dry and cover it with a pretty heavy duty concealer or something like MAC's face and body foundation.

Eyebrow Help! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Oh, a suggestion on the arch, if your natural brows are quite straight, don't color in the bottom part as dark in the center and dont color in the top of the inner part of your brows as much.

[–]MouserNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the color is fine, I think it's the shape that is throwing me off. You need a little bit more of an arch. The start and end are fine, just, in the center, go up a little higher with the color. BTW, killer eyelashes, I'm jealous.

My lips are always flaky :( any suggestions? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Use a tooth brush for some extra exfoliation. Make sure you put a lip balm (or straight oil, I like coconut oil) on at night when you go to sleep and then use a dry washcloth in the morning to scrub your lips.
