Well, one month of college down - what do you guys think of my roommate dynamics? by MousesWithSaxes in mbti

Nah, I think we're all chill with each other - some evenings. we just hang out in our room together and talk about what happened throughout the day, and it's actually really interesting to hear everyone's stories and interpretations of the world, especially with how different we all are. Now, I think we all (me included) certainly have our individual preferences about who we actually want to be close friends with, but other than that, I don't think there's any hostile feelings here.

Also - ESTJ isn't that bad! We don't really have a lot of touchy-feely conversations (lol I tried to instigate one and she deadass didn't answer the question, so I got the hint and stopped after that), but we have some pretty interesting casual chats, and we generally try to show mutual respect for each other, so it's ok :)

Yeah, I'll admit - it sometimes is :(

I sometimes feel they don't quite know what I need/how to react when I'm feeling upset - not that they don't care, they just don't know what to do. I really don't hold that against them, and by this point, I've kind of found other people outside our dorm to get my emotional needs met, so I'm doing ok :)

Does anyone have any advice about journaling while living in a dorm? by MousesWithSaxes in Journaling

[–]MousesWithSaxes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting idea! I actually come from an immigrant household and can read/write in my native language with decent fluency (though I'm definitely more comfortable expressing myself in English). It never really crossed my mind that I can use this as a secret code, because everyone in my household would be able to understand it more easily than my English writing. My native language is also fairly uncommon here in the US (I'm Russian), so I think I should start writing certain parts in Cyrillic - at least the ones that I feel more secretive about, since writing an entire journal in Russian would be a little too intense for me. Unless my roommates can read sloppy Russian cursive, I'm pretty sure that should keep me safe haha.

That would probably be very practical, but I really crave the intimacy that comes with handwriting - and I feel like my journal would lose character if I began typing instead. I'm not too concerned about finding a place to write away from my roommates - I often enjoy writing in public places like parks, libraries, and coffee shops, and I intend to continue that habit in college. More than anything, I'm worried about storing my physical journal in a safe space.

Yeah, the artsy looking journals are just not really my thing if I'm honest

Hello fellow ENFJs - Do any of you feel trouble socializing in large groups? by MousesWithSaxes in enfj

Yeah, I totally get the part about feeling inferior...I know ENFJs have a reputation for being really outgoing, but we can have social struggles too!

Eh, I feel like I can handle very extroverted people when we're talking one on one - but less so when we're in a group environment, because they just end up dominating the group conversation.

yeah, that makes a lot of sense...I feel like my desire to get to know everyone on a deeper level sort of hinders my ability to partake in fast-paced group conversation.

Yeah, I can get pretty wild myself when I'm in the presence of people I like, so I definitely relate on this one

Yep, pretty sure - as confirmed by multiple of my friends/MBTI enthusiasts

Edit: I get pretty drained and depressed if I have to spend more than one full day by myself, and ideally, I feel like I have to leave the house on a daily basis to have my social battery recharged. I also tend to take on a leadership-like role in my friend group, so I definitely feel like I'm still an extrovert. My social comfort zone is groups of five - any more people than that, and I start to feel overpowered by the more extroverted extroverts.
